Best Quality Images for PSP

What's the best quality background for the psp?
JPG? 24-Bit Bitmap? or PNG files?

I had some bitmaps that I converted to jpgs for space reasons... but if I don't care how big the files are, would 24-Bit Bitmap be the best quality or would PNG files?

ok before i help you what firmware do you have?

but to tell you the truth JPEG is what i have and it looks exacly the same as it would on the net... beacause thats where i got them.

A average digital camera takes pictures in Japeg format! Thats yoyr best bet!

I'm running 2.0 ... and I've heard that 24-bitmap might look better, so I was just checking if it's true or not.

Ok well then you know how to put the images that you downloaded onto the psp as background right. well then you could go and get a photoshop at http://www.download.com and fix whatever picture you want to the way you see fit.

i dont kno if one particular format is better than another one. id do what code man says .. and after you finished, save the pictures in different formats and compare yourself.

Well usually once you copy the picture to a memory stick it changes the format! Is that what you?re asking?

no thats not what i mean, i mean like changing it like you would a movie. not transcoding it or anything. changing the name, oh thats the way to put it. somthing like 100MNA00001 or something.
