sounds like your disks are not compatible with your stand alone player. what brand are you using? Hope you're not using Memorex!!!! they sux! here is a media guide that will show you what's good and what's not: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm keep in mind that the better disks are made in Japan (MIJ). Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony, Maxell..... some good brand media! costs about the same as poor media! be aware of this and you can avoid many problems. If you still have a problem with your DVD player then you can booktype your disk to play like DVD-ROMs (which are more acceptible to most DVD players). Check out this thread, #12: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136 with that you should have no problems!

@AngelFan
You should have no problems backing up this movie using shrink alone and then burning to a single layer disk. I used shrink in reauthor mode to backup just the main move and 5.1 AC3 eng audio channel. Have shrink create an ISO image file and autoburn with decrypter, keep the write speed at 4x and it should play fine. If the stand alone player your using is having problems with playback, check the manual to make sure your using media it's compatable with and should recognize an play correctly (choose media as suggested by IHoe).
As IHoe mentioned booktyping is another option, but your burner must support this function and it can only be applied to DVD+R media. Here's some info on it:

I ripped Wedding Crashers and have it on my computer, but when I burn it to disc it doesn't work. I can watch the files on my computer before burning. what's the deal here? I use any dvd and 1click and have never had any problems. I've tried to burn it several times and they all failed.

Hey IHoe, it happens when you're just trying to give an answer and move on, well at least we both had the same idea/thought.

VOBblanker is the remedy for this disc. If you don't want anything other than the main title, do what you gotta do, but I kept everything and ran it through VOBblanker and it was no longer too big for shrink to compress.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
