some of the latst copy protection causes this to happen try shrinking a movie you have shrunk before & see if it still does it, if not it is because of copy protection & you have several option like dvd decrypter, dvdfab decrypter, dvd43, vobblanker (all freeprograms) or anydvd (not free but you get a 21 day free trial)
what movie causes this to happen?
also remove your e mail address as you are not allowed to post it :-)

Rip the movie files to the HDD using the latest version of DVDFab Decrypter, once done open the files with DVDShrink (use the open files option and browse to the VIDEO_TS folder, highlight it and click ok), at this point use shrink as you normally would.
Get dvdfab Decrypter here:http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm
If shrink gives you a problem when trying to open the files created by DVDFab, you'll need to process the files thru VobBlanker first then open the files created by VobBlanker with shrink as described.
Get VobBlanker here:

Are you burning with Nero, if not then try unchecking the "enable burning with Nero" box in your preferences.

The problem is occuring while trying to rip/transcode the movie and not while trying to burn to disk, is this correct?
If yes, then it's a copy protecton issue not a nero issue. If your using nero version 6.6.1.4, the only issue with that is it will not allow autoburning with shrink to occur.

Since you have Nero. Try shrinking it with Nero recode and burning with Nero. You're gonna need DVDFab decrypter or AnyDVD or something to crack the copy protection, unless you have gotten it to the HD already. I agree with johnl123 copy protection.

When I put the disk in my burner and then start up DVD Shrink it will open disc and then it will let me re-author the disk but when I hit backup button. Nothing happens but I get an hour glass and then DVD Shrink shuts down.

probably the copy protection, download AnyDVD free trial from slysoft.com & run in the background whilst you shrink this should solve any copy protection

Ok heres one for all you DVD Shrink experts...i have trouble with my 3.2 it takes longer than normal to shrink, now...here is the catch i have also been using 2.2 that gets past alot of the copy problems like fog resident evil and alot of others...i have always used these, i have burned well over enough to know that they dont cause each other problems....and when i do the same disc in 2.2 it works normal, ....so i clicked the preview tab in 3.2 to wATCH IT WHILE IT SHRINKS AND THE MOVIE STARTS THEN STOPS REPEATEDLY...IT DOES NOT DO THIS IN 2.2....HELP ME PLEASE I LIKE BEING ABLE TO JUST let Nero take over right away in 3.2 i need to get back to normal

Just try using DVD Decrypter to rip the files and then load them into DVD Shrink avoiding the whole backup procedure with DVD Shrink then tell the movie to encode. This is should work.
