Ok, you told me to go through DVD Shrink, and burn with Decrypter, I did, and I got an error, unfortunately it wouldn't let me copy the error, and I didn't have time to write it all down like I have been doing. What I got out of the error was that there was a problem with the burner???? If you have any suggestions on what type of burner I should buy, and the model #, I would greatly appreciate it!

Yes that should be it. While looking on ebay you might also look for the 1620 or 1640. Both of those are excellent drives imo. I have the 1620 and really like it.

A couple others I could mention would be the lite-on SOHW-1693S and the sony DRU-800. Some like LG's or NEC's but I have never owned either. I would most likely choose the LG over the NEC. I personally do not like or recommend pioneer drives but some swear by them. The plextor PX-712 or 716's are the cadillacs but they cost about double what other good brand name drives do. What ever you do stay with a brand name drive eg. benq, lite-on, sony, LG, NEC, pioneer, or plextor. There are a lot of after market drives that are rebadges eg. I/O Magic, memorex, HP, matshita/panasonic. I would also stay away from teac's, samsung/toshiba's, and sanyo's.

LightScribe enables drives to burn a silk-screen-like, high-contrast label on the topside of CD or DVD media with a LightScribe dye coating. After completing a data burn, users are prompted to flip the disc over so they can burn a label onto it.

Lightscribe is a process which uses a special disk and an image is etched onto this disk by the laser in your burner. You can buy ls disks and then using a program which should come with your burner, burn a cover image onto the disk.

You can get them retail, Verbatim are the best ones to use. I have the BenQ 1620 and the cover art comes out okay. You can go look over at CDCovers for some art to dl and then use to enscribe your disk

Download whatever pic you want and use the program that should come with the burner. Or you can use Nero it has lightscribe program in it. Here is a beginners guide on LS

Ok guys, got my new BenQ burner, gosh it's fast. Using Shrink, it burns very well. My light scribe discs will be here by UPS today, so I get to try that, wish me luck. But I was wondering, a while ago in one of these forums, I asked how to convert my digital camcorder movies to DVD, I bought the firewire port like I was told, but have still been unable to convert to DVD, is there an easy way to do this, cause remember your talking to me...lol? Thank you for all your help so far you have been awesome.

Usually software comes with your camcorder, although it didn't with mine. I assume you are using Mini-Dv tapes, if so, then I used Ulead version 9 to encode/burn to DVD. They have a forum there, that has guides, which is what I followed. It took some time to figure it out, but the guides are actually pretty good.
Oh, and they have 30-day free trial, or at least they did, and I accomplished my chore well within the trial.
Good luck,
Rich

Ok, I need help once again, I bought the Chronicles of Narnia today, and am trying to back up. Everytime it gets to 6% of encoding, it stops and this error comes up....
DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Failed to read file "D:\"
Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
It hardly ever happens with any other DVD...so what does it mean, and how do I back this DVD up>?

Most likely it is a problem due to new encryption on some of the later releases. We need to know what software you are using and steps taken. Do you have any software to break new encryptions? I recommend AnyDVD. What utility are you using to rip with?

anydvd runs entirely in the background. Just double click on the AnyDVD icon and look for the red fox in you your tray by the time. You should then be able to use DVD Shrink as you normally would.
You might have to rip the dvd to your hdd before loading it into shrink. Right click on the red fox in the try and select rip to hdd. Select your drive with the dvd as the source and make a new folder for the target. Load that folder into shrink by clicking on open files. Locate the folder you just made and click on it.
