I am getting pretty much something that looks like that. Does it happen right before the burn starts?

Yes Io have even thought a reformay would solve the problem but that has not worked at all.

I have tried various discs and they all give me the same problem. My DVD burner is near new (2 monhts old) and of course the Nero is new too.

Before posting , do a search ... you would find lots of other people are
having the same concern ie : Error:\nCannot connect TRF. Seems a compatability issue with Nero 6.6.1.4 and Shrink ..
Go back to version 6.6.0.18 if you want to keep using Shrink .. You'll find links in other posts to previous version of Nero ..

@tokolosh and tokolosh
Have you recently updated your version of Nero? Version 6.6.1.4 is somewhat buggy and will not allow shrink to autoburn with it. I suggest you revert to an earlier version (6.6.0.18) or manually burn your files to disk.

@tokolosh,

I suggested the editing of your Nero serial number so it wouldn't be stolen and used by others, but I guess you don't worry about that. I offered no advice on your "problem" since I don't use Nero, therefore I have nothing to suggest.

Try using DVD Decrypter to burn instead of Nero. In Shrink, I choose "ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter". It's free! Good luck.

Please remove your serial #, we wouldn't want any nasty pirates getting ahold of it now would we, and another member has already suggested this and soon a mod may be by the edit it for you.

As suggested by johnl123, the current update doesn't play well with DVD Shrink, I would revert back the last version 6.6.0.18 until the good people at Nero get things ironed out.

Here is 6.6.0.18:

http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

And your firmware appears to be current.

A complete log could yeild more answers to your query.

Alot of people use either DVD Decrypter or Imgburn to burn the ISO image created in DVD Shrink.

Both are free.

Get Imgburn here: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
Get DVD Decrypter here: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/software.htm

I only use the two "Magical" retail programs, AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2, and I've never been disappointed.

Thanks LOCOENG for the link to Nero 6.6.0.18. I should have come here right off the bat. would have saved me alot of time and trouble. I upgraded Nero Saturday to the new version 6.6.1.4 and when I tried to use Shrink to burn I received "error: cannot connect TRF". After alot of thinking and messing around, I remembered I created a restore point before I updated Nero. After I restored to before Nero update, I again had Nero 6.6.0.18 and shrink works like a charm again. So it seems Nero's new version has some serious problems and bugs. I spent alot of time looking for a copy of 6.6.0.18 in order to download on my backup. thanks to LOCOENG again for the link. It pays to anticipate problems when updating. maybe thats what "restore" is for after all.

tokolosh,
Try DVDFAB Decypter and rip the DVD to HD and then Use Vobblanker to clean it up. After cleanup use then use Nero. You can also use PgcEdit w/ the psl2 patch to correct the problem
