OK, i know CMC dvd's are some of the worst! poorly made! crappy DVD's.. but i never knew i had so many... i bought about 200 (yea yea) 100 Memorex and 100 Phillips... but the first 50 dvd's i ever burned were perfect, didn't stall, every backup game, music and data worked perfectly... well 85% of the time, they record perfectly

But recently the dvd's stopped working. i've wasted another 50 dvd's and only 2 have KINDA worked. This all started after i got a new router... and i've been leaving my computer on mostly 24 hours for every 5 days. does it have anything to do with that? Cuz the CMC's worked before... or was that just luck? anyone know?

Thanks.

first one to say.. get rid of the memosux.. see if you can return them..

you may want to do a restart on it.. and a disk defrag would be in order on this one. no multi-tasking while burning.

what software are you using to burn? if you are using Nero. post the error log from that and i'm sure there are ppl here that will work with it.

After trying to backup Tales of Legendia i got tons of errors
Read errors from sector 4737 to 4751
Read errors from sector 7425 to 7439
etc. and theres about a billion errors lol

Look for Made in Japan Sony, Fuji DVD's these will usually code out as Taiyo Yuden. CMC (Memosux) suffer from Dye Degradation. Tend to get worse as they get older, I myself bought a few of these when I first started, before I became aware of Ritek and Afterdawn.
Check out these links.

Which Media codes out as TY.

Lots of Memosux horror stories.

And finally, some people never learn.

Get Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, or made by TY= (Sony MIJ, Fuji MIJ) and all will be well in your World of Burning.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

ok, this may sound like a 'noobish' question, but what manufacturer should i get for the TAIYO YUDEN dvd's? like i've looked at many,

YUDEN000T02, TYG01, TYG02, TYG03

But what would be the best, i looked at blivetNC's links, nd it showed a couple good ones, but i want to know what everyone really thinks...

Thanks.

(Also, i usually burn with DVD-R, does it matter if its negative or positive? [DVD+R])

ChaosBeck ,store wise look for Fujifilm DVD+R 8X that is Made In Japan same for Sony DVD+R 8X thats MIJ(these will code out as TYs) ,i buy all mine online at supermediastore.com or meritline.com , the TGO1 are rated at 4x the TYGO2 are 8x and the TYGO3 are 16x there no quality difference between them. and thats DVD plus R and DVD dash R not negative or positive, see what your burner supports (probably both) and what works best with your setup i use the DVD dash R because there a little less expenisive online compared the the plus format if you do use the plus format i would booktype them to DVD-ROM that makes them more compatible with all standalone players
