Are the hangups on your burner or a stand alone player?

Two things to try - reduce the burn speed. What speed are your burning out now?
Use a lens cleaner in your player - might try it in your drive also.
What the laser inscribed code on the back around the hub area? Hard to see so put it up to the light and get a magnifying glass! Your looking for something like GDXXXXXX, GGXXXXXX (the x's will be #'s).

I am burning at 1x as I stated above. The code on the hub looks like TG001162 not sure my eye are bad and I don't have my glasses...LOL
The freezing is when I ply it back on the standalone DVD player.
Thank you

Well you have the real deal ty's - tg is the beginning code on the 8x +. Actually 1x is well really low - so do need to slow it down :) Actually you might want to increase it a bit.
As bilbo65 suggested - try the pc - any freezing there? I think it's your player - have your tried others? I would still use a lens cleaner on the player - you'd be surprised at how dusty that lens can get.

Well there are plenty - go here and search:
http://videohelp.com/dvdplayers You can type in what your looking for - features, brand etc.
Sometimes they'll have 'buyer' reports on them.
Does the dvd playback in the pc w/ no problems?

Well then - it's your standalone :) Try the lens cleaner 1st before buying a new one.
I only use ty's w/ the occasional verbatim and in one player (new actually) I had problems. Ran a lens cleaner and bada bing problem solved!

One more suggestion. Try booktyping your DVD+R media to dvd-rom. If your using clondvd2's burn utility you will either need to use the benq booktype management utility, qsuite, or save the folder to your hdd and burn it with Nero set at booktype dvd-rom.
Also I don't recommend burning good quality media that slow. Overkill. Go with 4x. Also with good quality media I would set the target size to 4400 mb. If you start having freezing problems only towards the end of the movie then decrease the target size a little. Problem could also be due to overcompression. Are you doing full disc or movie only?

Out of curiosity, what kind of movie is it? It may possibly be the latest protection that you did not completely get rid of it. Yes, some of the newer encrypted fake/bad cells will freeze/pause at certain part/scenes, jump from chapter to another, black screen from beginning, etc.
I believe your media is a genuine YUDEN media and you shouldn't necessary needed to burn at 1X. Taiyo Yuden is one of the greatest media ever, so you can burn it at 4X or 8X flawlessly. I've burned hundreds and hundres (thousand) of those famous YUDEN000T02 and I've never experienced any playback issues whatsoever. Even if I customized my size to 4440MB, they all played wonderfully.
However, my methods of backing up DVDs/movies is not that quite simple as AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. It required a few extra steps to process the VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker once you've successfully ripped the movie via DVDFAB Decrypter. Another flawless method to completely get rid of dummy cells, encrypted sectors or pgcs is to rip the dvd with PgcEdit + PSL plugins Wizard + DVD Decrypter and process any left over craps with FixVTS.
