OKay, Im gonna be using my HDD out of my old PC, its a Maxtor 40GB, and my question is, do I need to completly get rid of everything on the HDD before it will work for the PS2? B/c i got it basically swiped clean except I cant completly reformat it b.c I dont have/lost my Windows XP cd...So when I goto Format on my PC, it says it cant because the drive is currently using progam/s or somthing similar. Is there any other way to get rid of everything on thr HDD, or do I even need to?

When you put it in the ps2 with the right programs eg. Hdadvance, The hd is in PC format so the the hdadvance will format the drive for you into ps2 format! and you WILL lose all the data anyway
