I recently bought a DVD Burner and have read/ searched as requested through most of these Forums and cannmot find my issue. I am still having great difficulty with a particular issue. My wife bought a DVD "Fireman Sam" from EBay (person in England, who swore it would play here on any DVD player, and it doesn't). I can watch through the PC. I tried to Download DVD Dycryptor, but it is unavailable. I finally found AnyDVD and downloaded that. It allowed me to copy the DVD, but didn't remove the Region Coding. The copy is the same, duh? How do I make a copy of the DVD (which is write protected, and in the wrong region format)? Lost here? Can anyone help. My DVD Burner is A Sony and the media is Sony DVD +R made in Taiwan (I know, not the best). Thanks in advance for any help.

Down load a free trial (21days) of AnyDVD, this will break any encryption and also remove any region code.
If you purchased it from England then more than likely it will be in PAL format whereas if you live in USA you will need it to be in NTSC format to play on your standalone DVD player( that is if it doesnt accept both formats).
The problem here is NOT the Region code, it's more than likely the format
What program are you using to burn the copy.

I have the Nero StartSmart Package that came with my Sony DRX-8100UL.
Do you need to know what Versions of the Software?

OK when you go to burn the movie do the following, open AnyDVD and have that running.
Go to Nero, open that and right click on more then right click on default video options, here you can choose the format, PAL or NTSC and whichever you choose Nero will convert for you.
You may be using Nero6 but the process is the same.

Got to where you mentioned and it is already set to NTSC. Which Program should I be using to Burn the Movies from my DVD-ROM Drive to my Sony DVD Burner. It's not reading the Disc in the DVD-ROM in Nero VisionExpress? This must be a pain for you, dealing with us newbies.

I'm a little baffled at this one myself. In AnyDVD go to settings>program tab. Click on 'show information window for new media'.
Now insert the dvd from england - what region does it say?
Put the one you copied in - what does the region say on this one?
What error do you receive in your player - or what happens? Does your dvd accept both +/- formats?

Region 2 on the Original, Region 2 on the Copy. The copy is not converting. DVD Players say "Cannot play due to area limits"
I tried DVD Decryptor too, and even downloaded the AnyDVD update today. No luck. I am going through DVD+R's like they are water.
Look, I must be in the really slow group, is there a manual or guide that explains what I need to do step by step. I get more confused by the message. The Original DVD is in PAL, Region 2. It plays on my computer only and not in my three (3) standard Sony DVD players. See aove for my DVD-Rom and DVD Burner Spec's.
Help, Help, Help and thanks for all the help so far.

Is sounds like it's still in PAL format. But check this 1st - in AnyDVD go to settings>dvd tab - under feature removal are the 1st 3 region codes options clicked?
If they are try this - rip to your harddrive with decrypter 1st - process the files thru vobblanker - you can download here:
http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm Create a new folder to store the files vobblanker will process. Open vobblanker - under input video manager open the video_ts folder decrypter stored the file. Under output folder choose the folder you created. Now under title set it will show the format. Right on all the files and pick video attrib and change to NTSC there. When done click process - depending on your specs will take about 10 mins.
Here a link for more help:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/167922 Then when vobblanker has done it's thing burn the processed files from the folder you created.
