installed nero and set it up to burn movie .....when i came back i have no drives working........running windows xp pro// went to device manager ...driver updates......this is what i got......CANNOT FIND HADRWARE DEVICE..ERROR CODE 41......UNINSTALLED nero had to use tool from nero to get the bloddy thing unistalled.....but now my E n D drives dont work.......any solutions........

uninstall your drives in the device manager reboot let windows re install them

well guys i fixed this problem....i did the uninstalling drives and rebooting ......still didnt work.....so nothing to lose i did a system restore...and i have my E and D drives back...but also got Nero back.......Nero acts like a virus...dont think i like that idea

so anyone that has simular problem with Nero and your drives.....this is the way to fix it.....

What version of nero are you using, 6.6.xxx or 7.0.xxx?
If using nero version 7.0.5.4 uninstall it, it's very buggy and was creating too many problems for me, use version 7.0.1.4b instead.

ty very must for all your help..... downloaded Nero 7 today and i cant seem to get it to work properly......i will look for the version you mentioned........ty again.....i may just use mediaplayer to burn cds and forget the dvds.....it used to be so simple shrink it and burn it .......oh well that is a change we will have to deal with :(

Uninstall nero7 from your system if it's version 7.0.5.4, use the general cleantool found here:
http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/General_CleanTool.html


Download and install nero7 version 7.0.1.4b, get it here:
http://httpdl6.us.nero.com/software/nero7/Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe

This version is stable and seems to be bugs free.

hi uninstall that Nero and installed the Nero with the link you gave me but the trial registartion number has expired ...is there a way to install without that number
