Lately I am getting a message

DVD Shrink encountered and error and cannot continue
Invalid DVD Navigation Structure

Seems to be happening with every DVD I try to backup
Any advice

hi
this is because of the latest copy protection.
You have several options. you can either use dvd decypter/dvd fab decrypyter to rip the files to your hard drive then run through vobblanker to remove any bad/dummy files then shrink as normal or you can run DVD43 in the background when you shrink (these are all free program)

or you can use AnyDVD from slysoft & run in the background when you shrink. (this is not free but you can get a 21 day free trial from slysoft.com)

which ever option you chhose to use you will find many helpful user guides on these forums. or if you have any questions post back here.

I recommend you use VOB Blanker, because even with AnyDVD I've run it to some problems with a few movies...

Thats interesting, I've run into NO problems with AnyDVD, you must have a program conflict....

I don't think so, but with like two movies, I've gotten the 'out of memory' error message while shrinking with AnyDVD running in the background...

Yeah I just updated today...the errors I mentioned were from movies I got about a month ago. So I've been using VOB Blanker ever since, I'll see how well this update wroks...

Thanks guys. At first I thought it was my software or DVD drive. Then I tried a 3rd movie and it worked fine so it apears it was a copy protection....
