All here have been extremely helpful in teaching and advising me of all the great techniques here. I want to thank you all for the many lessons. YOU ALL HAVE BEEN GREAT.

Another ??......

Since talking with you all yesterday, I have gone out and purchased 100 Verbatim DVD+R's (I took the TDK's back). Now that I have good media.......WOULD IT BE BETTER TO CONTINUE TO BURN @ 16X OR SLOWER?

Quality is most important.

There's no harm in trying it, but if your getting alot of burn errors or the stand alone player playing the movie starts to display/produce playback problems, stick to a max of 8x.

I personally have those same disks (made in Taiwan) and burn at 16X and have had absolutly no problems what so ever. It does help if you have a plextor PX-16a and an upto date stand alone player like a Sony.

The usual recommendation is half the rated burn speed of the disk. Yes you can burn at 16x but you better have a terrific burner, 8x is more reliable and makes for less errors.

Oh....BTW....
burning at 8x instead of 16x .... does that increase the burning processing time by a great deal?

It should take anywhere from 8 to 10 minutes, not that big an increase.

For a while, I went through the two 50 packs of verbs 16x, and I didn't have any playing issues. But I always keep everything up to date so I'm sure that's why there weren't any issues.

I'm back to 8x though because I just hopped onto the TY bandwagon.

For me, 8x takes about 8 mins, 16x takes about 5:35, sometimes 6 mins flat.
