PSP - Corrupted Game Saves

Whenever my son saves game from UMD, game save becomes corrupted after rebooting. Other data, such as MP3s and Pix are fine. Does anyone know of a solution?

The history is that started with v2.0. Downgraded to 1.5, found it was too much aggravation to continually load iso's so upgraded to 2.5 and now 2.6. Not interested in downgrading again (I know I can't at present anyway)

Any advice will be gratefully received.

ummmm....

first i would try restoring factory settings

if that still doesnt work

i would format the m/s

then if it still doesnt work.

hit the home button once you have saved a game.
go into usb mode and copy over the save game file to your psp

reset your psp - and copy over the file from your pc

maybe the act of transfering from pc will make it work (long shot i know) but atleast you will have your save games ;)


if all else fails

buy a new mem stick

it sounds like you have a defective mem stick mine was the same way

i had to refrmat my mem stick to get it to stop and all i did was games hope this helps.

use the same tecnique in my stickied thread. but use it for the memory stick.

bam brand new memory stick.

just get the same chip that you have before. same color, memory size, everything the same. there is no barcode on it so that way you will never get caught.

My PSP has done gis with Socom and a new eme stick solved the problem!

Thanks to all repliers.

Will try what you suggested and let you know the outcome.

My own suspicion was that when i downgraded, a file was left in the flash which somehow corrupted game saves. Could this be a possibility?

I should perhaps mention that before upgrading, there was a corrupted file on the mem stick that was undeletable in the usual way but was removed when the m/s was formatted. Does this have any significance?
