I have downloaded alot of 4.4g movies and burnt them to my DVDR+ and played them in my xbox... the movies always came as a rar file from which i would extract one large img file.... i would then open it to nero burning rom and burn it and they all played fine in my xbox... lately i have downloaded two movies which did not come as a rar file but they came as vob, ifo, bup files... i could open these movies directly on my computer but when i try to burn these movies to a DVDR+ my xbox no longer recognizes the disk.... i know that from my previous movies that do play in my xbox are made up of these ifo, vob, bup files because i explored the dvd on my computer.... so my question is how do i get my downloads that come directly as ifo, vob, bup files to burn to DVDR+ so they are the same as my rar to img downloads, to play in my xbox???

thanks

How did you burn the Vob,Ifo,bup files to your DVD+R? Did you make a data DVD(did you just moved the files to DVD?) What program do you use to burn? To make a DVD from Vob,Ifo,Bup files,so you can view it in a player, you have to make a video DVD. You can open those files with DVD Shrink, encode and then create an ISO and burn like you did before. You can do the same using Nero Burning Rom.

My friend, I think you are a little missinformed(and I provided the links below to backup my statement). Nowhere in dudebrett's post I can see anything mentioned that suggests piracy. There are sites where one can pay to download movies in different formats. Now, I don't know whom you're referring to when you say we, but if you take a few minutes to read the links below, you can see that on AD there are entire forums dedicated to this subject that this thread is about,(not just about "DVDs we own"),thread to which you contributed with nothing by adding your comment. I know that your comment was directed to the initiator of the thread probably, but are you implying that I am talking of lets say "forbidden" topics just because I answered? I hope not.
If you assume that he "stole" the movies, my friend, assumption is the mother of many fu#%k-ups. Don't make too many of them.

So, dudebrett, back to you, and your problem about the movies that you paid for to download we don't care where from. Welcome to AfterDawn and let me know how you are doing. How's Canada? I'm freezing here, just south of you!

and what is your point?
My point is my friend, as I stated above, you are TOTALLY misinformed, and you are not familiar with forum rules, because if you were, you would have not started this slander. If you did not know, this is what you are doing. And slander buddy, can get you in trouble.
Quote:
how many people do you know that pay for thier movies?
I know about 193, and the majority are from here on AD:~)!. And if needed, they can concur with me.
Quote:
it don't matter he more thain likley did not pay for them
Well, you are right on this one, even though you did not know. Why? Because that?s what Forum Rules no.5 says.
Quote:
5. -> PIRACY AND LINKING TO PIRATED MATERIAL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE FROZEN IF YOU DO THIS <-
Case examples regarding rule number five (5). No piracy.

Case: Discussion about pirated content and piracy, such as converting (downloaded) video and/or audio files to DVD/AudioCD/whatever format. PERMITTED
So yes, ?it don?t matter? where he, or I, or anybody else gets their movies. That is just not your business, as long as in the thread there is no direct link to pirated material. And if you thought that the thread violated any rules by containing such restricted information, you should have not broken the next rule,Rule 14 ,rule that says:
Quote:
14. If you see a post that violates any of these rules, please report it to our moderators using the "Report an offensive post" link. Do not play the role of a moderator if you are not one. There is absolutely no need to nitpick on the posts of new users. Let the moderators do their work.
but you did brake it. And not even in a nice manner, but in conjunction with braking Rule 6:

Quote:
6. No foul language, insults, personal attacks or otherwise rude messages.
that is exactly waht you did. You nitpicked on the posts of new user, and you did it in a rude manner.
So, please, learn to be nice, or don?t bother other people that are trying to help!
Your nonsense accusations do no good to anyone. If you are mad at the world, take it somewhere else please.
Quote:
you get what i am tryiny to say?
I?m sorry, were you saying something? If you were, no, I ?don?t got you?!

And I guess here ends our little chat. If I can, I will help the initiator of this thread. If not, maybe someone else will. If you don?t have anything useful to say in this thread, please, stay out of it, don?t get it crowded. There are so many other threads out there that you can go and just bump?em up.
This will be my last replay to you. There is no way I will argue with you about anything anymore , as I know from experience that in an argument you can only win if is a win/win situation. That?s when you argue with a smart person that displays some common sense. Otherwise, even being on the ?right side? of the argument, arguing with some nonsense person, you still loose, you loose the time, and energy invested on someone that will not learn anything anyway. Probably what I am doing now. I hope you prove me different.
From here, if you have any other comment or problem regarding this matter, please use the link situated in the right upper corner of the message, the one that says ? Report an offensive post?. Or I will use it.
Thank you.
