Right, I'm wanting to rip some stuff I have on DVD into AVI onto my PC. I have ImTOO DVD ripper at the moment, and when I rip it, there's a bottom banner type thing which is off the DVD recorder I have, so it's just got a black box at the topp with lines in.

I was wondering if there's a decent DVD ripper which you can trim the video, so when it's extracted at a AVI file, it won't have the bottom banner type thing. ImTOO doesn't seem to have the feature anywhere. I found out I can rip the file as an AVI file, then open in TMPGenc, then do it that way, but it means ripping it, then converting it again, and it takes a while, so a DVD ripping program which already can crop the video would be good.

I'm not overly bothered about paying for software either, as I always pay for everything I have, so any ideas?

you can crop the image using womble but I found it slow VirtualDub mod is free and can do it but is not a one or two button program
