If you had a stack of pictures that maybe didn't mean more than life itself but close there was only one copy and one alone you suddenly feel the need to back it up in a digital form, What would you use?

But yes, Taiyo Yudens or Verbatims (if you really wanna nitpick, then the DataLife Plus shiney Verbs).

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

I think snuglbug that these 2 brands would the majority of the responses - there may be a few stray ones (so disregard those :).

i agree with the general consensus here, you won't go far wrong with your IMPORTANT pictures using MCC coded Verbatims or Taiyo Yudens~ :)

Thank you all for your responses they are much appreciated so its TY and VERBATIM. Heres another one for you. Lets say that you don't trust disks to last your lifetime and after spending 40 hours a week for 16 weeks (ok a little fib maybe not that much time) to scan in those pics and home movies what would you recommend for a back up of a back up. I was thinking a Raid system (because even HDD's can go bad that way you have more then one copy. Do you think this is extreme or on target. I am so afraid that after all the work of scanning that the work would just disappear.

double backup em up save one in a double sealed bag if your that afraid but dude i meen media changes all the time so no dvd/cd is lifetime well they are but not. dvd/cd format is what we are using today in the future prolly well be using DVD 75GB disc as a standard format if you wanna keep keep em untill you die keep updating your medium when new mediums come out just burn from old to new thats the only input i could think of
