Here is what is most likley a newbie question. I have ripped a movie to my HD with shrink. I reauthor it and add just the main movie (Title 1) un check the audio and subpictures I don't want/need. The movie is still at around 70% compression. I have gone into the custom ratio and moved the bar up to near 90% before the bar turns red.

Will this now play OK? I have not checked th DVD in a player yet, but I hope it will be good quaility with no freezing or skipping. Or should I just keep the Shrink defaults?

Thanks for the info... This is a great forum!

I don't really know, but just check it out in your DVD player, and since you just backed-up the main movie it should be fine. The best way to tell though is to actually look at the finished product...

Just use the Deep Analysis and AEC controls if compression is high and you should be fine...these will add considerable amount of time to your backup though.

If the bar turns red it means the end resulting file(s) is to big for the disc u want to burn to normally 4.7GB

Go to Edit> Preferences> Target DVD sizes and set it to "Custom" and the number to the right of that to "4300". Now you will not burn to close to the edge and it should cure your problem
