DTS is for Digital Theater Systems. You do not need it unless you want it. I prefer DD 5.1 as DTS rear channels seem to go overboard.

AMD Athlon 64 3800 X2, 1GB RAM, 200GB HDD.

I would remove the DTS audio stream unless you have a DTS decoder surround sound system. The dolby 5.1 stream will suffice for most and if you don't have a surround sound system the 5.1 stream will be down mixed to 2 channel stereo. Personally I like the DTS audio stream.

I also prefer the DTS audio stream. If both DD and DTS are on the disc, but I only have room for one, I'll take DTS everytime. I'll buy the DTS version of a dvd (ex: Gladiator), before I will the DD also. If you ever plan to have surround sound, you may want to keep it......

it's technacally proven that DTS has better sound wuality than dobly digital, but usally you can't really tell a difference.
