I want to burn some audiobooks to mp3. Tried track at once & disc at once. Both have the 2 seconds of silence between each track. Does anybody know how I can do it with Nero?

Never mind. I downloaded the manual (from the Nero site) & found my answer from there.

I see no one reads these rules nowdays. It should be implemented an admission test before joining the forum:~)!

From the pdf manual...

Select the tracks in the compilation window.
From the edit window choose properties.
In the dialog box select 0 as the pause length then click the apply button then the ok button.

Just tried it & it works!.

Some explanation that may help:-

Why not join all the tracks and burn them as a single file?
Because the only way you can listen to them is to start at the beginning and play them all through each time (especially in a car or standalone player).

Why would you not want gaps between tracks?
Because if you have, for example a live concert recording or an audiobook, you want it to play continuously without gaps. (Splitting the file into tracks gives you the ability to move backwards and forwards or to start from a particular point (but shuffle not recommended!)).

BUT ... I always did this in Nero 6 and earlier by changing the properties as suggested. Since I 'upgraded' to Nero 7, I can't get it to record without gaps any way (TAO, DAO, Track Properties).

Does anyone have any experience of this?

Have you ever listened to Pink Floyd with 2 second gaps between their songs? "The Wall" is a good example, it is really annoying. LOL

oh, yeah, I don't have Nero 7, and if I can't get rid of the gaps, I guess I won't be getting it either.

why dont you just go to the audio form, post your question and see if either vurbal or neil wilkes, both geniuses in the audio field can suggest a solution for you..................

Hi
Theres an option that you tick...says something like no pause between tracks (or no gap etc etc)........but just remeber that with that version of Nero (7) you always have to tick it even when loading from a previous saved cue sheet.Btw if it skips....the mp3pro.dll needs changing for an earlier version. Also found out that cues saved with Nero 6 dont load with Nero 7 (music)
hope this helps someone

the tick he is talking about is only located in nere express that i know of must click the nero express button and then it will be on the right hand side

and the reason why you would want no gap is how many cd's do you buy that have a puase between the tracks especially with all the screwed and chopped stuff out their they just fade from one song to another with no pause so if you rip to you hard drive or you d/l you dont want a 2sec pause in between the fades...at least thats my opinion

G*D damn it their goes NERO doing it again!!!

Thanks, John. Spot on - it's on the Audio CD tab for anyone who wants to know. I hadn't noticed that they'd sneaked that in there, and it's a lot easier than having to go in and change the propeties.

Interestingly, it sets the gap on the first track to zero also, which would produce a non-standard CD, but I guess it ignores that when it does the burn.

So for the record, in Nero 7, checking the 'no pause between tracks' option gives you no pause between tracks, setting zero pause between tracks in the properties gives you 2 second pauses between tracks.

I wonder how you burn a CD with pauses between some tracks and not others? ;-)
