PSP Worth it?

Hi I am wondering if it is worth it to buy a PSP? I have a PS2 right now and am going to sell it this summer to get ready to buy a PS3. Is the PSP enjoyable until I get my PS3? Will it be compatible with the PS3?
Any answers would be great just trying to make a decision

well its a great machine, stunning looks and when u take full advantage of it (homebrews,music,videos) its nearly as good as the ps2, if not better. It has great graphics. It should be compatible with the ps3, as a controller etc...The psp has great line up of games so it should be enjoyable. Perosnally i think it is Value for money ;D But if you want it to have value for money then make sure you get firmeware 2.0 or less. Latrz

What is Firmware for the PSP? Something to do with the internet? What is GTA like?

firmware is what ver the psp is. 1.5 you can download iso's. 2.0 or higher you can't. if you get a 2.0 you can downgrade back to a 1.5. if you don't want iso's then you should get a higher ver. 2.6 is the highest firmware at the moment.
No the internet is an option that you can get if you get a 2.0+. it needs a router and it is free.
Grand Theft Auto- heard its boring. but if you are talking about the homebrews for 2.1+. then yes than you need GTA:LCS. any more information is to be given by someone else.

ummm
if you can get a hold of a psp 1.5 yes
if not, well then it isnt, not that i dont like it, bcos i love my likkle psp.
but the games are pricey and the homebrew on 2.01+ is limited - if not crap.
the internet is pretty cool i can now read forum posts while sat on the toilet. so theres a plus ;)
would i recommend buying one.?
if you have the money buy one - search ebay or the net for a 1.5
if your have to save up for it, save up some more nd wait for the ps3

yeah i read forums while im taking a crap to. Plus when im grounded, my parents don't know that i can go on the net. yeah i agree 100% with ravenlife on that though.

lol, been there once, every1 too excited for my liking and theres always a mad conspiracy taht sme lunatic makes up...id rather stik to the facts..damn but i havnt still got internt of ma psp...what wireless routers do u guys use?

It is very easy to install but it can cause more problems than its worth :P I got mine from play.com for £17.99, pretty good for the price.

This is my story, I got the PSP for christmas as a present, (one of the best presents ive ever had apart from a car) So ive had it for a while and ive pretty much been attatched to it. Ive played almost every game out there. If you asked me, if its a great gaming machine? id say PS2 rips it, if you ask me if its a great machine altogether id say Most indefinitely. I use it in my car with a FM modul8r, its sweet. Its great because it can do so much stuff (the top of the list being wireless internet) Would i go out and buy one if i didnt have my one? In Aus its A$400 i would not buy it for that much, if i found one for maybe A$300 Guaranteed!

well here in the us the are $250, worth it if you ask me.
For a wireless router i would get somthing dependable, something that you know will last a while. i have a Linksys broadband router.
doesn't realy matter what name brand router you get, just get one that has a "G" on it. these you can go over 100ft away from and still get 100% conection.

yeah i do wish the screen was a little biger, but heres the trick. don't think about it, until you get light headed, then you walk away from it a bit.
Ok instead of starting a new thread, can anyone else besides me put openMG audio on your psp. i found a way of doing it, but you have to turn enable the wma playback. for that you have to have a wireless router, then download the newest sonic stage. well just needed to know if anyone else knew how to do this. ;)

i am able to do that anyway cause i have a laptop, only downside is my notebook makes my nuts really hot i feel like they're gonna melt..
you can view it but ya cant reply tho, so i guess rl you are one of the many ppl that cant wait for the keyboard to come out

yh but 30gb...bit ambitious isnt it? my 1gb memory stik does me fine, but yh i think theres a battery pack out with smething like 5gb and double the battery life, The downside frm my view is that the battery life is quite poor...

i'd say wait for ps3, cuz by the time a psp is 100% compatible with all the mods & iso, a ps3 will probably be availabe.
