I'm looking to take some parts from a DVD I have and convert them to a playable AVI file for insertion into a powerpoint. It is 20 minutes max of clips, and I want to retain as much quality as possible. The size of the VOB files indicate I should be able to fit that on 1 cd. What is the best way to go about doing this? Is there a small lossless format I can encode it to?

Basically, what is the best method for producing a playable AVI with no concern for filesize?
