i am seriously considering buying this drive to compliment my benq 1655 , i just wanted to know if this is a good burner . looking for expert opinions or anyone who has experience with this drive . thanx in advance

Hello there,
I have the Nec 3550 drive. I guess we are in the exact opposite situation. I am looking for the 2nd burner for my other computer and the one i am looking into is either benq 1655 and the pioneer dvr-110. So I guess we can sort of exchange info and help each other out.
As for the Nec 3550 the drive is really great. I guess the quality is really depend on the media and the software you are using. I being using mostly the Taiyo Yuden and some sony ones and not having much of problem. I will highly recommend this drive.
The best place to buy it is the newegg.com the oem drive is only 38 bucks.
I heard the Benq 1655 work best with the +R. Nec3550 work well with both.
