I have purchased AnyDVD+CloneDVD2. I used it to back-up The Legend of Zorro 2. It worked like a charm. My question is why does it take over 3 hrs to back it up? I used a preferred speed of X4 after ripping. Is it because it's a long movie or can I speed it up without sacraficing quality? I just backed the movie only. Thanks for your comments and help on this subject as well as those in the past.

Which part took the longest?
Ripping the DVD should take about 15 minutes
then burning would take another 15 on 4X burn
Sometimes to keep things peaceful you need a Piece thats Full |

Ripping the DVD took the longest time. Writing took about 45 minutes.
I did not get into the device manager because I do not know how.

AABBCCDD I got into the BBMayo site and pulled his guide on DMA. I use Windows ME. The device manager is showing Primary IDE controller(dual fifo) and the same for Secondary IDE. It has no advance tab where I can do any changes to the DMA mode. Any other suggestions?
Thanks again, I thought I had it licked.

click start ,click control panel from there click systems ,then click the hardware tab ,click device manager uninstall your drives here reboot and windows will reload the drives in the right mode DMA ,its very easy to do follow this guide if you need help...

you have to double click the + sign to open Primary IDE controller and the Secondary IDE. they you can get into the drives propties delete the drives and reload them or change it back to DMA mode

AABBCCDD: I got in and the DMA mode is checked. I guess maybe since I have a computer that is 5 years old, the processor can handle the strain with all the programs I have. Thanks for the help.

make sure you have all other programs turned off when burning ,this will help free up some memory ,at the very least you should be running 512mb of memory (Iam running 2 gig)you should have a decent processor also ,sounds like its time to update
