DVD Decrypter Fails Half Way Through

I'm trying to copy one of my DVDs to HDD, but DVD Decrypter keeps failing half way through... I keep getting an I/O Error something about a check condition and unrecovered read error? any ideas? the movie is older... PCU

make sure the disc is clean & has no scratches on it. you could try using dvd fab decrypter (free download) as this tends to work better & be more forgiving on scratched discs (and is also updated unlike dvd decrypter)).
what disc is it as it could be copy protection that decrypter cannot bypass

Sounds like you have a dirty/scratched/bad press disc. Try cleaning it off 1st. Decrypter imo is usually the best ripper for these.
You can also change some settings in decrypter - go to tools>preference:
-i/o tab click 'ignore read errors'
-general tab - change removal method to aggresive
You can also try ripping in iso mode - this has worked for me when file mode failed. Or if you have another drive try that one- some are better at ripping discs w/ 'glitches' than others.
You can also run a lens cleaner on your drive - clean the lens - this will sometimes help the drive read thru the 'glitches'.
If all fails well you'll have to exchange it for a new one.

haha cool, thanks guys... guess sometimes you overlook the obvious :) dirty disc, quick wipe on the old shirt and i'm done. thanks again.
