hi
two choices -
either rip to your hard drive with DVD Decrypter or dvd fab decrypter
then run files through vobblanker then shrink as normal with DVD Shrink (all free programs)

OR run AnyDVD in the background whilst you use DVD Shrink. (not free but you get a 21 day free trial of AnyDVD from slysoft.com)

do you need to run it through vobblanker after decrypting it? i didnt and it worked, but i cant play the movie in one of my home dvd players a message pops up saying "disk error" but in my other home dvd player (an old pioneer thats about 6 years old) it plays fine.

why would it play on my ancient dvd player but not on my new one? i used DVD+R disks

Has your new player ever read DVD+R disks before. If not this player may only read DVD-R disks.

What is up with the movie DOOM?
I have tried two different copies to back it up and DVD Clone gives me a redundancy error about 3/4 into ripping it.. On BOTH copies!
I tried Nero Recode and it would not ripp it...got to 3/4 and just stopped with error. The copies are spotlesswithout fingerprints scratches or smudges.
Are these just defective copies? The first time it told me the compression of video after it scanned it and then went to NEXT screen and it would not even scan the Audio.. I cleaned it but then it showed me compression and hit NEXT and was ripping to HDD before it stopped 6 minutes from finishing and gave me redundancy error..
Same exact thing happened with second DOOM I tried. Any new kind of encoding? Using latest version of AnyDVD 5900

i used AnyDVD & clonedvd
the new version of AnyDVD should be able to do this movie???

Use DVDFabDecrypter & you have problems run the files threw VobBlanker. Alternatively you could use AnyDVD/Shrink.

I did it the night before with DVD decrypter, dvdshrink 3.2, and burntit with nero. Also I watched it last night no problems and a full backup at that, not reauthored.

What I usually do .. Especially lately with alot of movies.. Is rip to HD with Dvd Fab decrypter then I open up VOB Blanker .. If I see any blank cells or anything that looks useless I blank it out... then I run it through Shrink or Nero recode...

I suppose that would work, but the problem is that it will not even ripp the VOB files to my HDD.The last 6 minutes I get an error on the 4th VOB movie file...3 different ways to ripp it..all errors on both tries..Guess they have some bad DOOM movies out there.

Yeah sounds like a bad pressing...

I just used DVD Fab Decrypter and Nero Recode 2
on DOOM...

Looked at it with VOB blanker but there wasn't anything that needed to be blanked...

I had a major problem to. My free version of CloneDVD 2 just finished two days ago and I don't have the cash to get it yet and to top it off DVD Shrink Ver. 3.2 won't work on my PC for some weird reason So then I decided to download DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta and guess what? it worked the first try. Used dvd dectyptor, then DVD Shrink beta to reauthor, and last but not least Nero to burn....Exausting process due to the fact that on this DVD Shrink you choose the file itself and see if its the main movie because it won't tell you. So now I got a copy of Doom....sorry to waste your time just thought my solution to my problems could help others.

Take it easy everyone.

Just a thought. When ever I've installed DVD Decrypter, Its asks you if you want it to check for updates on startup. Choose no, because I read that sony bought the rights. I've only had problems with two Disney movies; Madegaskar and Sky high. In this case DVD Decrypter placed dummy files and I could never back them up.

Not allowing DVD Shrink 3.2 or DVD Decrypter internet access from the get go might help, even if it means wiping out your HDD and starting from scratch and reinstalling XP or whatnot. I am new to this thread but not to the programs I mentioned, I would like to learn more about more recent software, I love movies! Any suggestions? Thanx
P.S. I softmod x box's.

Instead of wiping your HD just use DVDFab Decrypter or AnyDVD.
DVD Decrypter has been long dead & os therefore incapable of cracking the newer schemes.

I have tried AnyDVD and like it. I understand it simly intalls a driver to tell your burning software to ignore copy protection. I didn't like that it caust money mabey a could find a free sub on bear share? Also, coping disks straight up with a HHD between disks has caused some disks not to play on standard dvd players using Nero. I use dycrypter DVD Shrink and disable audio streams and burn a iso to my hard disk and then burn it with DVD Decrypter. DVD Decrypter saves alot of time and your done with the disks quick. I used to only use DVD Shrink 3.2. On My dell 4700 3.0 gig I can process several disks at once, four right noew and stil browse the net with ease.

Did you pay for it? I will look at it again, I wasn't as knowledgable about video compression back then. Does it atomatically compress video to back it up on a 4.35 DVD+R. By the way that irritates me. Why do the call them 4.7 when they're only 4.35? Just one of my pet peeves? Going to sleep, I'll get back tommorow. Peace out!!! HaHA

Nope havent paid yet (still on trial) & it does not compress the DVD.
It only cracks it. You would use DVD Shrink (or Rebuilder) to resize it & I have no idea why they call it 4.7 GB overhead I presume. Just as your connection speed could be rated at 1500 though most you will never see is only 80% (1200) of it.

I don't know if any one had problems with newer disney movies, like Madegascar, Sky High, or Bambi 2? DVDFabDecrypter will crack them and allow you burn a backup with DvdShrink. I thought that would be helpful, because neither dvd decryter or DVD Shrink could proccess it alone, not even after FTP'ing all the files to my cpu with my modded x box.
