I have xboxhdm and I have the C off of slayers 2.6 where it should be. When i try to double click on make-iso-win.bat like all of the tutorials say I should a black box comes up and flashes on screen really fast but then nothing happens. I htought it was supposed to make an .iso then i burn that to a cd. Why is it doing this and what do i need to do to get it right?

make sure you have your eeprom in there and also i would get an E drive aswell so it boots to the modded dash search C and E Folder on mininova.org i uploaded that torrent myself....the black screen will load and make an iso if everything is correct read the read-me file for xboxhdm...
edit this is directly out of the xboxhdm read me

This explains howto build a burnable iso from this distribution.
For information on howto use the xbox HD builder script read the readme.txt
in the linux directory.

The xbox HD builder script (xboxhd) needs the xbox C-, and E-drive files.
You can supply the script with these files in two ways :
You can either :
- burn a seperate CDROM with two folders containing the
xbox C-, and E-drive respectively, or
- Put the xbox C- and E-drive files in the C and E folders
in linux directory before making the burnable iso.

I am using this tutorial and it doesn't call for an eeprom:

is that right?

LONG STORY. I modded with SID and that worked out just fine. So I wanted to put halo 2 onto my HDD so I could mod the maps and stuff. It was to big and erased my unleashx dash or whichever it was. So I only had one dash and it was the one that did't have the option to restor the ms dash. I wanted to remove it so I went in and ftp to it and then deleted my c and that's how I got error 13. the cd' wont work and im hoping this will because i dont' want to get another one since my parents dont give me allowance.

I don't have AIM but I have messenger. I guess you could make a torrent but you would need to tell me how to upload it.

that tutorial tells your everything i would put the xbox as close as your can to your pc unhook the ide thats the grey one from the dvd drive, and loosen up the xbox hd ide to make it easier to pull out, and make sure your A/V cable is in your xbox but it dont have to be plugged into the back of your tv.put the xboxhdm cd you burned into your computer unhook the hd in the computer.turn on your computer and hit the pause/break button top right of your keyboard.turn on the xbox it will boot to an error 11 now unhook the hd and hook it up to the pc ide cable and hit spacebar. after that follow the tutorial on what options to pick and so on.

When I have my Xbox opened and the DVD IDE cable is unhooked and everything else is plugged in I get an error 12 not 11. Then I try to do that steps to set it up the computer goes to a screen about DHCP and is looking but doesn't find a boot filename thingy. Am I just hooked up wrong or what?

I still can't do it!! I will tell you the steps that I go throught and then you can tell me if im doing it wrong. I have my xbox opened and the only thing that is unplugged is my ide calbe to the dvd. both my computers hdd are completly unhooked, then I turn on the computer and stop it before it does anything. I turn on my xbox and wait for the lights to flash and then i swicth the xbox hdd ide cable with the computer one. i then push space and then it will do some stuff and the it's looking for a DHCP and it doesn't find it so it stops

what you need to do is unscrew your xbox hdd from its holster and unplug the ide from the xbox hdd and then plug in ide from your computer into your xbox ide.also you are supposed to turn on the computer and hit the pause/break button.

step 1-make boot up cd and put it in computer
step 2-unplug ide cable from the dvd rom on xbox
step 3-unplug ide cables from hdd in computer
step 4-turn on computer and before it loads press pause/break button on keyboard
step 5-turn on xbox when u get an error message quickly unplug the ide from the xbox hd and plug the pc ide into your xbox HDD and click the pause/break button it will then load your xbox harddrive.
