it can be done but you would get a big drop in quality and its a complex process

As already stated by philraz you will probably get a drop in quality. You can do it with the free DVD Shrink, but will not be able to have your menus, just the movies. Here is a guide for that

You can also do it I believe with NeroVision Express, and can even make a menu.

Dito to philraz. If you are not interested in anything better than a bad VHS copy you can get 2 maybe 3 on a disc by using Shrink and reshrinking re-authored files. With DVDs running at .39 to .49 (US) each why would you want to?

as a curriosty exercise
I've actualy got four 90min films on a dvd by reencoding to avi at a lot smaller resolution draging the sound down to low bitrate mp2 reencoding to mpeg2 combining and adding a menu with dvdlab then running thru shrink but I'll tell you the quallity was absolute cr*p

Amen to the cr*p comment. Being frugal is one thing, but with DVD 4.7 discs so cheap wonder what is up with trying to squeeze more on less?

Hey nyjetfan, I'm not sure how much you fit on the disc, But the method I use involves the use of Nero RECODE 2 & DVD Shrink. I use SHRINK to back the movies(2)up to my hard drive or C: Drive. I then use RECODE2 "Remake DVD Option" to retrieve each movie file to RECODE2. I then click next choose "Slow Burn" option at 8x (Because I use 8x VERB or SONY -R disc). I use this method for double sided (A & B )disc like "A Time to Kill" "Sleepers" or with movie sequels 1&2. I have done this with limited reduction in picture quality. Let me know how it turns out.:P

@pinoy, Not true? I can prove it. What's your address I'll send you a copy (No cost). I'm sitting here looking at Nightmare on Elmstreet 1 & 2 burned to one 4.7GB Verbatim 8x -R. Actually there is no visable picture distortions or reduction in picture quality (Viewed on a 36inch SONY Wega TV in fullscreen). I am positive that if anyone tries this method they will be met with impressive results. Have you tried this method using NERO to accomplish what I have explained?:P

Nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.Nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php
download and install update package 2
incase your Nero 6 is not updated to 6.6.1.4 then i recommend you also download and install that

Ok, Back both movies up to your C: Drive or hard drive using DVD Shrink. Once this is done. Open Nero RECODE2 "Remake A DVD" Click on import titles. Go to your C: Drive and select the 2 titles you wish to put on 4.7GB Blank DVD disc. Select "Main Movie" for the 1st film then main movie for the 2nd film. Now there will be no "On Disc" menu but you can take advantage of your stand alone DVD players "Chapter & or "Title Menu" option Now "Click next" and select the "High Quality" (Slow Burn)mode. Then select burn and wait 10 to 20 minutes depending on the size of the compressed file.:P
