Per laddyboy's suggestion, I am starting a new thread about my experience with the Verbatim 16X printables from Sams. About every 3rd one was a coaster & they coded out to be MCC 03RG20.

My burner is a Lite-on SOHW 1673S with lastest firmware. AMD Athlon 64 3000, 1 mg ram. Burned using Nero 6 at 6x speed.

I bought these Verbs because I had seen in the forum that Sams had good Verbs & I prefer the printables. Mostly I buy TY hub-printables from supermedia, but occasionlly I need the bigger holes & I do not like the shiny printables so thought I would give the Verbs a try. Where did I go wrong?

What version of Nero are you using, and did Nero generate an error log that you can post?

If you do post the Nero log, make sure to remove your serial number from it. Your serial number is on the first line of the error log.

I use Nero 6 (the lastest version before they came out with Ver 7). As for the error log, I am not aware of any error log created. I didn't get any message about that. I always check my discs after burning by putting it in my DVD standalone & jumping chapter to chapter. If it stops & freezes on a chapter, then it is a coaster.

Even tho you didn't have any errors logged with Nero, it still might be useful to post a log of one of those suspect burns. You can find a log at C:/program files/ahead/nero/nero history.

Verbs from Sams kick ass.I have never had a coaster with them.It could be that you are burning at 6x that is giving you coasters.I usually burn at 4x or 8x and never have problems.I tried a couple of times at 6x and didn't get great results so that might be your problem.

The first few I burned were at 8x but got coasters, so tried 6x & still got coasters. I don't have the option to burn at 4x with these (just 16x, 12x, 8x & 6x). The log file may be difficult. I looked at it, but I had burned 30 discs yesterday (some TY's & some Verbs). It is hard to tell which part of the log belongs to which. I am going to reburn today & see if I can tell from the burn log.

Granted it is not printables but I have bought the Verb Lightscribes and have had great success from Sams as well..

As others have mentioned could be a computer problem and not persay the media itself..
