After attempting to burning "dodgeball" with my Pacific Digital external rewrite I am getting a response "Transcode Error, unspecified error[0x1] even though it also tells me that the burn was successful. I tried copying directing to the hard drive and then to the rewrite but received the same response. I have tried both dvd plus and minor and received the same response with the ROXIO (version 7.0) software that came with the rewrite. Though I can live without this movie, it's still bugging me! Any thoughts or solutions would be gratefully accepted.

Rip to HDD using DVDFab Decrypter, then process with VobBlanker, then transcode with DVD Shrink (create ISO image) and finally burn with Imgburn.

All free programs.

Personally I found AnyDVD copy protection removal software and CloneDVD the easiest of all to use. And CloneDVD will also burn. They have a 21-day trial. I liked them som much I bought them. The time savings alone over the other was worth the few dollars. And they update AnyDVD very regularly.

I suggested the above programs because they are free. I own AnyDVD and do believe it is worth the money, but I only suggest the pay programs as a last resort.

Thanks for the solution. It's always nice to have friends. I will order AnyDVD but just knowing it can be done with the freebies is a good feeling, Thanks again!

You are welcome. As stated AnyDVD has a 21 day free trial, so you can try it out vs. the free tools method to make your decision.

Happy burning.
