Hate to be the bearer of sad news, BUT just downloaded and installed the update. Ran a new burn through and worked as before, no problems

Played said burn in 3 different players throughout the house

FF only in 2X no RW capability at all.

Works on the PC DVD player, FF and RW and works on another PC DVD player, JUST NOT ON HOME SYSTEMS ARRRGGGHHHH

A copy made of same burn using old 321 product works everywhere perfectly

SO no I am at complete loss. Being able to FF in 2x only is not an acceptable glitch

Thoughts, comments recommendations ANything at this juncture will be accepted

Thanks

Hi Ireland. In the note that you wrote,

**********************************************************

what do you mean by "the first beta"? Does this refer to the new Machinist2? Also, should the previous versions of DVDnexTCOPY and Machinist2 be unstalled prior the installation of the new ones?

I downloaded the latest version of the program last night and took it home to test to see how it worked.

Here are my findings for Version 1.0.3: -

Using the Dual-Layer 8.5GB output setting as well as the Default (normal) quality setting, I tried to copy a DVD-9 disc to the C:\DVDneXtCOPY folder on my HDD.

I haven't tried/didn't try to copy the ?movie only? onto a DVD-9 disc or even to a folder. I don't know if that would work in DVD-9 mode as I don't think the program would know where to put the Layer Break if I try to copy just the movie and nothing else to a DVD-9 disc/folder on the HDD.

The end result of using the Dual-Layer setting: -

STILL no FF/RW capability via PowerDVD/Nero Showtime/Windows Media Player 10. The screen freezes after I try to FF/RW past the 2 times speed.

Also noticed that the preview function STILL does not work on the dual layer burn. It comes on automatically in the 4.7GB mode.

However, using the Single-Layer 4.7GB output setting as well as the Default (normal) quality setting, I tried to copy a DVD-9 (movie-only) and a complete DVD-5 disc to the C:\DVDneXtCOPY folder on my HDD.

The end result of using the Single-Layer 4.7GB setting: -

The FF/RW capability via PowerDVD actually works all the way up to the maximum 32 times speed in that program.

Also noticed that the preview function comes on automatically in the 4.7GB mode.

Anyone else care to share their findings?

Regards

between me and the rest of the world, international dvdnextcopy should of stayed with DVD X Copy Platinum v5.0.0.13 as the program works with out a problem..on all movies out.but there is a catch..it has to be converted to ripper free..so to be used with anydvd.
i sent them the info on how to do it.but they decided to go with dvdnextcopy.

which has a lot of problems,it was pushed out of the oven b-4 it was cooked.VERSION 103 IS JUST AS BAD AS V101,THE ONLY ONE THAT SEEM TO WORK RIGHT WAS THERE FIRST BETA.AFTER THAT IT WAS ALL DOWN HILL..

They seemed to have forgotten one in there conflict list, if you have AnyDVD running in the background all you will get is this.

DVDNeXtcopy will not even start until you disable AnyDVD.

Well I got the new version to work on my test movie which is Charlie and the CF, the ver 1.01 would not even do this movie. Kept getting microsoft Main Client error at the end. I dl ver 1.03 and it did the movie, completed the process and no error. However, finished product would not play in all players it froze in three players and played in two. Not only that but my video was messed up after installing/using the new version. Did this movie with Xcopy platinum and had no problems with AnyDVD running in background. This is obviously a progam that needs a lot of work, and I totally agree with ireland on the fact that Xcopy should not have been dumped in favor of this rubbish.

It's another piece of software and it does have decent options. I didn't have any problems while checking out the last version. If you want to use AnyDVD, use the ripper, turn it off and open the ripped files in DVDneXtCopy. In effect, Slysoft already has a built in solution for use with DVDneXtCopy. Even with DVD Decrypter we learned we needed to turn off CSS Cracking and make minor adjustments to work properly. AnyDVD can be used to rip all the movies I've tried, but it doesn't have to be on to do the backup. If recording on the fly just has to be, then it's a no go. Neither app guarantees 100% compatibility with other apps. With me it's not a problem. I use HDD files for just about all my backups.

I prefer AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter with RB/CCE and DVDD or Nero to burn. Some prefer speed over quality though and don't like it. Everybody is trying to sell a better mouse trap. To me the new software is a decent additon, but I don't see any great improvements over the older XCopy.

dawn42330 and all
it time for you to get a program that works and simple to use.
and can copy all movies,
and can be tried for 21 days free.

clonedvd and anydvd

CloneDVD 2 guide
Now, CloneDVD 2 's basic user interface is very, very clean and simple. There are no preferences available to tweak, no difficult selections on front page, etc. Just three main buttons and that's about it
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/full_dvd_to_dvdr_with_clo...

AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.

CloneDVD 2 copies movies to create unparalleled picture quality DVD backups, whether it?s the main title you?re copying or the complete DVD. CloneDVD will compress long footage at high speed to the highest of quality using specialised transcoding technology, allowing you to select your audio and language settings and also the final target size. Easy for even the novice user, CloneDVD?s intuitive Filmstrip assistant guides you through all the available configuration settings, allowing you to choose which chapters to include and offering the option to trim individual chapters.

A visual quality bar shows how your configuration choices affect the quality of the final copy. Note that copying protected DVDs also requires AnyDVD.

I'm having a problem with dvdnextcopy v1.0.3 not giving me the pulldown menu under Create Project. They've sent me links for v1.0.3.1 and v1.0.3.2 to try. Neither of them worked. I agree with Ireland. I've tried DvdXCopy, DvdShrink, DVD Decryptor, and, obviously, Dvdnextcopy. By far the best is the AnyDvd/DvdClone2 combination.

Well, I downloaded the newest version and it didn't work at all..SOOOO I took Ireland's suggestion and tried AnyDVD and DVDCLONE2, wow, it works
It's a little slower than neXtCOPY but I can fast forward and everything. It even looks like it will burn DL disks

I purchased the 2 products and yes, if you type in "afterdawn" in the coupon area, you'll get another $10 off the bundle price

I appreciate all the help everyone has offered, especially the moderators (a truly thankless job), but even I know when to cut a run. Perhaps if this thing ever gets to a usable item (IMO) then I might try again, unitl then

Enjoy the summer

Yes, Steve, it does burn dual-layer. I tried both single- and dual-layer discs, and they both worked perfectly. And thanks a lot for the info, Ireland. Unfortunately, I didn't know about that before I bought the bundle. But I'm not complaining. Considering the problems I've had with dvdnextcopy, it was worth the extra 10 bucks. I, admittedly, touted dvdnextcopy when I first tried it, but, as my problems mounted with hurried non-solutions from tech support, I've changed my mind.

Thanks to all who tried to help me make DVDneXtCOPY work but couldn't. Thanks to Ireland and Charlie and Tony for their patient help

I'd like to ask one last thing. I put in for the guarantee refund 3 days ago and other than hearing from the Tech department to try what has already been suggested and not worked, I have yet to hear the details of mt refund. Any idea as to how long the process takes?

Thanks again and enjoy the summer

DVD X Copy wasn't anywhere near the best software when it as first released.

Now days you can purchase the two best dvd decrypting and burning software for less than DVD X Copy is asking for their upgrade.

I mean: AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 by SlySoft for less than $50.00 for the pair.

I have been decrypting and burning movies for a number of years (and yes I also have and old copy of DVD X Copy), and have never run into any software that does exactly what it is suppose to do except for AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2.

eric, ireland, i have tried clone dvd (slysoft) trial, it is very reliable but picture quality, wouldn't you agree 1Click or even DVD 43 is better. I also tried AoA DVD Copy, good copy and so fat no problem. I wonder why people say Slysoft is better when the pic reproduction is not as the original?

Nothing is the same as original, unless it's a 1:1 copy. DVD43 is decryption software, not even the same type software as CloneDVD 2. CloneDVD 2 is a decent transcoder, I don't rate 1Click more than poor.

Yeah, but the naked eye can tell the difference. have you like tried it personally? I'm new to this so I wouldnt understand tools etc but I just look at the end result, (I tried all the trial) Slysoft was clear but not sharp, 1Click, and DVD43 was (I think catfreak recomended me that), I was thinking it's really weird....
can't anyone tel the difference, why do people here hate 1 Click (I'm nuetral)

BTW, what's a 100% reliable (beside Shrink and anydvd)software for movie compression esp fitting the whole DVD9 to DVD5

Brobear, if Clone DVD is a decent software, what is a good software? (in the 1 or 2 click category)
