Hi there,
This is the message I am receiving.
Your Xbox can't recognize this disc. Make sure it's an Xbox
game, DVD movie, or audio CD.
Am I doomed??

yea if this is a normal game then go clean the disc of really good,just sounds like a bad game to be try other games and see if they work...

I have tried cleaning the xbox, cleaning the disc, etc. I have tried putting in a xbox game and a dvd and I receive the same message. It does play a cd though. What is softmodded? Thanks :)

sounds like your dvd drive might have went out seach online for another one....

There are a lot of places with replacement drives.
There is a site llamasomethingorotherrepair.com, lol. They have a lot of parts and simple guides. They could really help you out.
Go to google and type llama xbox repair. You'll find them.

Ebay also have dvd drive for sale but make sure your not buying a broken one.....

softmod is a easy way out its bassicaly modding with out opening up you system all you need in AR and splintercell or mechassault or 007 agent underfire

but i suggest on gettin a modchip softmod is risky delete one file oops!!!! your xbox is screwed you need to use xboxhdm after that and it took me a while to figure that out
