Well,
I just got done looking at the DVD sales for this week and saw the 15.00 bucks for Sony MIJ's at Best Buy. Just to make sure I'm not going out and buying shit media; those are manufactured by Taiyo Yuden, right?

The 8x +R are PROBABLY going to be Taiyo Yuden as long as the package says made in Japan. The -Rs Made in Japan in my area are Sony made stuff(08D1. Still good but not Ty. I don't think the 16x are Taiyo Yuden.

@Halen5150, IF those Sonys are DVD+R 8x and Made in Japan. They are Taiyo Yuden Made. THE Top of the line media! If you have Nero 6 or better, put one of the blanks in your burner & open the Nero Info tool. Look in the drive letter your burner is, and look at the disc.
If it says YUDEN000 TO2 it is for sure Taiyo Yuden. Even if it doesn't, it is a 99% chance it IS Taiyo Yuden, This only applies to Sony DVD+R 8x Made in Japan. The Sony DVD+R 16x Made in Taiwan are made by someone else. Probably good blanks. But I would stick with the aforementioned, OR Get The Verbatim DVD+R 16x .
Office Max has these for $14.99 a 50 pack. This week's Sale.
Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

Those should ID as Yuden000-T02 and the japanese fuji +8x will also ID as that same code if you run into them anywhere. I picked up 11 spindles yesterday at bestbuy-top notch stuff.
If those are japanese sony dash 1x-8x:
Then they are likely Sony08D1 or Ty-g02. More and more reports of Ty-g02 coming in from them.
I haven't had any trouble with either japanese yuden000-T02 or Sony08D1. The 1x-8x sony are a heck of a lot better than their older 1x-4x and 4x speeds.
I also stopped in at staple's and they had the japanese sony +16x in stock. These will ID as SonyD21. I accidentally ran into a spindle,but no issues.The labeling is similar to the +1x-8x spindles.

My Best Buy has MIT and MIJ mixed together in the -R's, But I only saw the MIJ on the +R's.
Hint: Do as I and several others have done. Take the Best Buy ad to Circuit City. The same discs will cost you $12.50 per 50 pack.

@snoland,
When you say take the BB ad to CC, do they give you a special price cut since you've found a better price @ another store? (I think it was that thing on one of their commercials about a "if you buy a product from our store and find a better price in less than 30 days; we'll match/beat it.")

They will beat anyones price by 10% of the difference. Circuit city is selling them at $40, Best Buy has them for $15. The difference is $25, so they will beat the price by $2.50, so you get them @$12.50 each.
