I first tried Dark Water straight from the DVD with Shrink. It opened the DVD and let me reauthor, but then refused to let me run backup. I tried to run it through Decrypter, then Shrink, but Shrink refused to open the Decrypter created VTS file. I'm guessing I'll need to try DVDFab and/or VoBBlanker. Anybody know for sure?
Dukes may be ok, I got it ripped with Decrypter, and am currently processing just the movie in Shrink (99.6% compression and it still ran analysis). My concern on this one is that when I tried to preview the movie in the little Shrink window there was no sound. There appears to be 300+MB of audio file in Shrink for the movie file, but I get no sound in Shrink. Does this mean my copy will not have sound either, or does the preview window just fail to play sound sometimes?
yes, you will need dvd fab, you can download from here www.DVDIdle.com
you will need that for dark water, and the preview window on shrink does not play sound. thats just a window to show how far the movie has progressed.
I was able to get The Dukes of Hazzard with AnyDVD , and DVD Shrink , but with Dark Water I had to run the files through Vob Blanker first, then Shrink...
I should also mention that if you don't have, or do not want to get AnyDVD , just use the same process for the Dukes as I mentioned for Dark Water...Vob Blanker has not failed me yet...payce
Thanks. By preview window I meant the one before you hit backup, not the one that comes up during backup. Normally there is sound for the one when you have the DVD contents layed out and you are selecting compression levels, whether to keep subtitles, etc.
I got both movies to copy last night, Dukes with Decrypter/Shrink (there was sound on the DVD copy). Dark Water worked with DVDFab and Shrink, without needing VoBBlanker.
