mikey73,
If you are trying to rip a DVD using DVDDecrypter it might have a problem w/ the newer movies. I would suggest you use DVDFAB Decrypter and then use VobBlanker and then use Shrink or Nero. Below is a guide: All of the programs are free except for Nero but you can use Shrink instead

DVD Decrypter in ISO mode can handle ALL the titles that everyone is having trouble with. I don't know why that fact is just being ignored on this forum.
Just use ISO mode, then run the file through shrink. Don't have AnyDVD running while you are doing this.
In ISO mode DVDD makes an image of the disc, while doing this it also removes encryption and also puts dummy sectors in place of the bad ones being put on newer discs.

SLaTheR,
DVD Decrypter will not do the Fog. I tried it using iso mode and it is No Go. To do it in iso mode correctly to copy the image file to D/L you will have to use AnyDVD and setup DVDD in Settings w/ the correct setting in I/O and in General

If I am doing D/L Disk then I use iso mode w/ AnyDVD. If I am using PgcEdit then it uses File Mode. Either way is good and it depends on what you are doing. You may need to put DVDFAB Decrypter in your arsenal just in case

I copied The Fog using AnyDVD and shrink with no problems. I don't use DL though, so my experience with them is nill.
On the aside, The Fog left alot to be desired LOL.

SLaTheR ,
Just wanted to clear up your statement about DVDD in iso mode being able to copy all of the new movies as we know it can not. I know that you were talking only about the older movies . Keep posting as you are doing a fine job and helping alot of people.

cyprusrom,
That is what I was pointing out to SLaTheR. I even thought it would work until you get to the newer Sony movies and I found out it would not. Then used PgcEdit w/ the plugin. If you want to use DVDD in iso mode, you need to use AnyDVD but make sure you have configured DVDD properly in the settings

You're absolutely right. I thought the same, but even ISO mode can't do it.Now I switched to DVDFab and VobBlanker or FixVts method. These days I only use DVD Decrypter if I do an older movie and I just want to ripp "Movie Only". DVD Decrypter is still a great ripper, and if one owns AnyDvd( I personally don't, I a'm not into the 1Click process), it will do the job. Also, peolpe say is better than Nero at burning DL.

cyprusrom,
If I am doing D/L blank Media I use AnyDVD along w/ DVDD to get the iso file. I have found so far that there is no deviation from the original layer break but that is no guarantee that it might not happen in the future.
If I am doing DVD-5 then I am using Pgcedit w/ plug-in and then using DVD-RBuilder-Pro and I own AnyDVD. I will switch to AnyDVD full time when the other ways also fail. But w/ lifetime updates how can you go wrong.

Mike,
I never used a DL disc. I personally prefer "Movie Only", I did that 95% of the time. As for AnyDv, maybe I will get it when there will not be any free solution tho DVD backup. And money is an issue, in the life of a student. Pllus, I like to feel like I am involved in the process. I don't do it "just to have another copy". Is more like a hobby. I could wait 2-3 months and buy another one for 5-6$ at Walmart, if that would be the only purpose. By just clicking once on a wonder tool, is almost like driving a nice sporty 300 some HP car on automatic pilot! At least for me!

It's all about the thrill of the rip...as I believe someone here has already stated, you know who you are. LOL
I can't tell you how many movies I've done just to see how difficult they were, even though I had no desire to watch them...LOL

You got it right!
I have tried almost every single method suggested around here(free). Everytime I see a thread with a problematic movie, even though I have no desire to watch it ever again, I tackle it!
Hi, My name is Cyprus.
I am a rippoholic, and is been 3 hours since I last ripped!

Here is a brain fade question concerning DVD Decrypter. I just had my hard drive fail and had to replace it. Of course, I did not have a back up copy of decrypter saved anywhere. My question is, Now where can I get DVD Decrypter to download onto my computer? Is it even available anymore?
Any help would be appreciated.

I really signed up in Feb, just to get DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink but didn't start posting heavily until around August.
