Hi FatimaT. Afterdawn has some great guides that will help you learn to use the software you have. Below is the guide for DVD Shrink. You can browse the guides section by clicking on the tab at the top of the page.

And yet another guide:

DVD Shrink has not been updated in quite a while. You will need software specifically designed to "decrypt" newer movies to use with the software you already have. Some use a free program like DVD43, while most use AnyDVD. AnyDVD has a 21 day free trial by the way.

@Fatima
First, I would get another great free tool that has been updated to keep up with the new encryptions:

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=51904

After you have ripped the files on your HDD with DVDFab, you can follow one of the next guides:

DVD Shrink
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

You can also Nero Recode,

http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=62235

If it is one of the newer movies from Sony, you might want to get familiar with the following guide:

http://www.k-probe.com/backup-newly-release-DVD-DVDFAB-Decrypter-...

Everything might seem overwhelming, but, trust me, is a piece of cake even if is your firs time touching a computer. If you have any questions, AD will guide you.
BEFORE YOU START:
I don't know if you already bought yourself any blank DVDs. If you did, they better be Verbatim, Sony-Maxell-Fuji Made in Japan. If not, Office max or best Buy might still have them on sale, a 50pk for 15$.

ADDED:
I see that you were also suggested AnyDVD or DVD43. I personally would not use DVD43(even if it is free). AnyDvd is a great tool, it will do the job, but is not free. If you are interested to do you backups with only free tools, IT CAN be done, and is quite easy!!
