My brother-in-law passed away last year and his children made a dvd of some old film made years ago of us . I have it downloaded on my pc but can't burn a dvd. It's not copyrighted and my computer is capable of burning one, with the proper software. This may very well be the only time I use it, so I don't want to spend a fortune on it.I found a product downloadable from the web only, for $29.99. But when I tried to contact the company, my email was returned as undeliverable. I have Nero on my pc, but apparently it is only a trial program. I would appreciate any input on this. Thanks!

First of all, I would recommend you edit your message and remove your personal e mail address. There are rules against that, don't know the details.
I understand your problem. You can do everything you need to for free. At the top of this page, there are Tabs, If you search through the "Software" Tab, you will find A LOT of free software, some of which are trial versions.
It sounds like it is a home movie you are speaking of, so if your Nero has not expired, you should be able to simply make a copy of the DVD. If it has expired, I'm not too sure about this, but maybe if you uninstall Nero from your computer, and reinstall a different version, may be something newer, it might work as well. Not sure about that.
But there are other "Free" Programs here such as Imgburn and DVD Decrypter which have a burning engine in them, so you can burn from there as well.
If you find a program from here that you think will work for you, you can go into the other Tab right before Software, and search through the "Guides". this should explain any questions you have. Or if you are not sure about something, you can always post another question here. I'm sure someone will answer.
Hope this helps.

DVD shrink can copy that DVD video for you and its free.
You can use Nero or IMGBURN to burn after DVD Shrink.
No need to buy anything unless you want to.
(Nero isnt free but IMGBurn is).
Good luck

@ddp,
I am sorry if I overstepped my boundaries. I am assuming your comment is about my suggestion to Ginny124 about having her personal e mail posted.
I was just trying to be helpful to Ginny because the spambots may grab at the info. I am not trying to be a moderator, just friendly.
If your comment was about something else that I said, please explain, so I do not repeat my mistakes.

no problem but that is what the offensive posts are for so you don't get flammed by somebody who rather get help than get reprimmanded for not reading the rules.
