Do you get an error message? If so what is it, word for word?

Make sure you are using the most recent version of DVDFab Decrypter, to do this uninstall any previous versions from your puter and reinstall the latest downloadable version.

CRC error on a brand new disc may mean a bad press. Can you exchange it?

I've gotten that error because of the copy protection...so try running it through VOB Blanker, if you continue to get errors...

This didn't produce any issues for me. If you are running the latest versions of the proven programs, then it's gotta be a bad press. Wherever you got it from, you should be able to exchange it for another one.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Agree with Ruger, CRC errors are not due to copy protection. Scratched or dirty disk, bad press, could be common explanations. Would clean disk thoroughly and try again. If error persists, try to get another movie disk.
