Hi

Can anyone help me please?! I'm having problems burning DVDs using Nero 6. I've (eventually) managed to get a DVD burnt using Nero Recode (I still can't get NeroVision Express or Nero Express to burn anything) but the quality is so bad it's unwatchable! The sound is fine but every couple of seconds it looks like the picture gets stuck and sort of jerks/jumps.

I'd be very grateful if anyone can help.
Thanks
Lou

You should be using nero6 version 6.6.0.18, if not get the update form the links provided. Just install over what ever version you already have.

The problem your describing (picture gets stuck and sort of jerks/jumps) is usually caused by either using poor quality media or just burning your backup too darn fast.

For media try using Sony DVD+R (made in japan) disks or Verbatims.
For write speed set nero to burn at 4x, but no faster than 8x.

Also make sure your burner's firmware is current, it does make a difference.

It is recommended that you uninstall your existing version of Nero6 and then re install version supplied. This will rid the prog of any existing bugs.

The version of Nero I'm using is 6.6.1.4 and I set the speed to 4x.

I converted the AVI files using WinAVIVideo Converter before I tried using Nero Recode to burn the DVD. Would that make a difference? I've tried using Nero to convert the files in NVE but the timer carries on going and the burn to disc process never actually happens, the DVD's ejected automatically before it gets to do it. It never gives me an error though.....the timer just carries on forever!

Please refer to the info already supplied, your version of Nero contains "bugs" and is causing problems.

That version of nero has been reported as being buggy and should be uninstalled first. You can do this by using the nero general cleantool found here:

http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/General_CleanTool.html

Once it has been uninstalled, download and install version 6.6.0.18 from the links above.

I would use nero vision the perform the conversion process for you, here is a guide:
