Hello,
I would like to copy/backup some DVD movies.

The programs I am using are DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter.
I am using a philips USB DVD burner that should burn all kinds of DVD media.
However, when I copied the DVD (without any errors given by the two programs), the DVD wont play on a dvd player nor the pc. The menu seems to load a little strange, but sometimes is still able to show. When you skip the menu to play the movie, at first everything looks ok. Further in the movie, the image starts looking to be scrambled, and at last the movie even stops playing. I already threw away some messed up DVD´s, and now I would like to know what I am doing wrong!

I think this site would be the right place to ask this question. Hope that someone can help. Thanks alot!

Just a few possible causes for this are:
1) Using poor quality media
2) Burning too darn fast

What brand of media are you using and where was it manufactured?
What speed are you burning/writing?
Have you checked to see if a firmware update is available for your burner?

Can you post a decrypter log?

Im using MMORE DVD+R 1-4x, and usually try to burn on max speed. However I read somewhere that this is not the best option, so I just tried with 2 speed. The same problem.

No I didnt check yet for a firmware update. I recently bought the burner..
unfortunately i dont have a log of decrypter.. It didnt make any log??

First I suggest you try Sony DVD+R media (its made in japan, good stuff and has been great for me) or Verbatim disks which also burn excellently.

Burning at 2x is too slow and some burners really dont like this speed or at the very least don't do well writing this slow. Burning at 4x is the better choice.

If you provide me with the exact model number of your burner, I can look for a firmware update if one is available. You can also use DVDdecrypter's search for firmware updates function to have it check for you, it can also inform you on what your current version is.
