What I want to do is take clips from various DVDs that I own, then be able to use those clips on my PC to create a music video in Adobe Premiere, Vegas Video, or some other program, but I'll most likely use Vegas Video as I've done before.

I know how to use DVD Shrink to get certain clips on my computer, but when I take that VOB file and try to convert it to AVI in VirtualDub Vob, it doesn't always come out right. The audio will be out of sync, etc... Which video codec would be the best to use in VirtualDub? I've never really known that.

I've tried using DivX, but when I try to edit that video in Premiere, nothing at all shows up.

Is there a guide somewhere, that explains the following?

-The best way to get specific clips from a DVD onto your PC.

-The best way to work with the VOB file that DVD Shrink gives you.

-What I should use to convert that VOB file (and into what), to be able to load into Premiere or Vegas, without any problems.

-Anything else I'm not thinking of right now. If there are better ways to do this, please let me know.

I just can't seem to be able to get the clips to my PC in a true form that I can actually work with for what I want to do. Thanks for any help given.

it supports DVD to MP4; DVD to CD/VCD; DVD to DivX; DVD to MPEG1/2/4; DVD to AVI
