Questions about dvd's that play dvd +-R and RW's

iu just bought a dvd player that plays all the different versions of formating for my sister, does this mean that the player recognized the ISO image that DVD Shrink keeps on my HD? Can i just copy the image without DVD Decrypter, or something similar? Do I need something to convert it back to a readable format for her dvd player? Any help is greatly apreciated. If there is a thread that speks of this, please point me to the right direction. Thjanks again

dvd shrink 3.2 will do that for you. it will encode it and shrink it to fit a dvd and if you have Nero burner, it will burned it automatically.
first you will have to use DVD Decrypter with DVD43 or anydvd

First, I'd recommend getting AnyDVD and leave it running in the background. I'd then use DVD Decrypter to burn the .iso and at the same time booktype it (if compatible with your PC's burner) to a DVD-ROM.
The DVD should then play in almost any DVD player. You must however, use a DVD+R disc for booktyping.
As hursty says, you can also 'burn image' in Nero. I personally don't use that method as Nero's booktype option doesn't support my DVD burner.

no need for AnyDVD when burning with decrypter,as the iso is already been ripped with DVD Shrink :)

OK, dumb question, but i used DVD Shrink and Decrypter in the past and had no problems, but i never "booktyped" the file, what does that mean and why should i go through the bother of doing that?
I know that her dvd player is compatible with many formats such as DVD +- R and RW but what does that really mean? Does it mean that I can merely copy the ISO without using Decrypter, or does it just mean that the player can support a varied of formats/disks?
I never heard of Booktypiug and any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the info so far. :)

in simple terms
changing the format of the disk from DVD+R to DVD-ROM increases the chances of the disk be recognised by a standalone dvd player
as all dvd players will recognise DVD-ROM

so i will need to find out what program will enable me to change the booktype, which all depends on which drive the program supports, or dosen't, is that correct?

yes,dvd decrypter allows you to change the booktype and so does nero,
but this is only allowed on certain burners
my pioneer 108 doesnt allow it...
but i must stress i have never changed the booktype in my life
so dont worry about it to much,as its not usually required
(only in extreme cases,where someone is strugling to get a dvd to play on the dvd player)

Cool. I thought that wasthe case but I wasn't sure. So if I understand you correctly, changing the booktype might enhance the DVD player's ability to read the disk, but is not always needed. Sweet. Thanks for the info and I will try it out and see.
On a different note, where can I find a trial version of Nero. I heard that it is a good program since it has more options than DVD Decrypter,
so I would like to get my feet wet in that program. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If there is a string already posted about Nero, please forward me to it so no one has to repeat themselves.
