I got a PSP version 2.0. I'm kind of scared trying to downgrade it to version 1.5 in order to play homebrew games. Not really sure what homebrew really means but I'm only looking to play download games such as madden 2006 or GTA on a memory card. Does these games requried verison 1.5?

Just make sure you follow the instructions, and nothing bad will happen.

Check out the homebrew scene here
I like this better SNES, genesis, brings back memories.

But if I made a copy of a game, lets say Madden 2006 from a UMD and transferring it to a memory stick duo...do I need firmware v1.5 or will it work with v2.0??

Your only chance of bricking it is if you turn off the power, take out the battery or unplug it, if you dont do either of those three you will not brick your psp

Ok so I followed the instructions but I'm kind of confused now.
First I copy the eboot.pbp into the UPDATE folder under psp/games.
Then I put the overflow into the photo folder and the h and index in the memory card folder which in my case is drive K:\.

I'm not sure where I go from here. No idea whats VSHELL PHOTO MENU.
Also, I think I heard that if I downgrade to 1.5...I won't be able to watch video. Is this true?
Thanks for the help.
