I'm a newbie to all this so your patience is appreciated!

I've used DVD-Cloner III to copy the contents of a DVD (Ong-Bak, a Thai martial arts movie) to my hard drive. I now have two folders (AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS), the latter of which contains BUP, IFO and VOB files.

What I want to do is create an avi file of the movie only (i.e. not all the menus and extras etc.) which has the Thai 5.1 surround sound audio track and the English subtitles.

I've got WinAVI Video Converter but am not sure if it's the right program to use. Can anyone please point me in the direction of a good (idiots) guide or help me out?

You should rip the DVD in IFO format with DVD Decrypter, with slitting set to none. Then get superdvdripper or winavi should do the job, To get the 5.1 make sure you select the AC3 audio track when going to Divx

1 DVD Decrypter rip the DVD in IFO format
2 you can try Cucusoft DVD to iPod Converter ,it supports DVD to AVI
