Can you assist?
Recorded streaming flash audio as a mp3 file.
Using the "create audio cd" option in Nero 6, I split the track in to 20 smaller tracks and burnt them to a cd.*
Now I have a wav cd with 20 tracks. I want mp3s not wavs.
I open the wav cd with nero. Surprise, its not wav its cda files. WTF?
So you can see my question.
How to I split a long mp3 in to separate files and put them on a cd?
The mp3 has to be split at specific points (when no sound is playing)
Thanks.

*I had to use audio cd so I can see the volume levels of each channel to split the mp3 at the silent parts (between songs)

Buttpipe? Are we running out of names here at aD? Ass Plumber must have not been available... LOL Just kidding, and welcome to AfterDawn.

To your point... I would use Mega MP3 Splitter v1.1

It is freeware, and will split your track into multiple tracks. You just set the break points. You can get it here http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/gmm/fwmp3.html

It is a great little proggie. When done import into Nero, and burn, baby, burn.

cornholio and cornholio666 were not available names so, in a fit of inspiration, user buttpipe was born.
Mega splitter works well. Except....I have really long mp3s and its faster to split them using the ocilloscope view rather than by listening to them and pressing split at the silence.
I guess I just need to find a program that will let me do that or one that is freeware that will split them automatically when x amount of silence is detected.

Cool. Glad to see a user with a sense of humor!

There are all kinds of nice freeware apps out there. Look long enough, and you'll find one that works for you.

See ya round!
