Try DVDFab Decrypter and then VobBlanker and Shrink. It is kind of hard to give info on a movie that will not be released until next week.

I did that, it locked up, I had to kill the process.

So far it has locked up DVD Decrypter, VOB Blanker, DVDShrink, and DVD Fab. Just for giggles, it totally locked up DVDShrink5. I think this is something new! It even locked up Any DVDRipper!!!

It will copy down to VTS_01_4.VOB, and just lock up.

Try the AnyDVD free trial.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

So then use AnyDvD/Shrink, if it does not work im sure there will be an update once the movie has been offically released.

As gamename said try anydvd & clone - have you tried that one yet instead of the ripper part? I'd be curious as to what anydvd says this disc has on it.
Make sure you are not running anydvd w/ dvdfab decrypter.
Here's a guide from alkohol w/ decrypter and a few other progs that may get this one ripped and burned for you:
http://k-probe.com/backup-movies-DVDDecrypter-PgcEdit-VobBLanker-...

editted to add: see you tried anydvd - set it to show the media info - what protection does anydvd list for this one?

Nothing special on this one that AnyDVD or dvdfab decrypter, DVD Decrypter shouldn't be able to handle.
You may have a bad press. Do you have another drive you can try it in? Some are better than others at ripping problem discs.
Also try ripping in iso mode w/ decrypter.

Bad Press, AnyDVD/DVD Decrypter/DVDShrink, took care of a new copy.

Thanks for the help!

You're welcome! Glad it worked out!
That's one of the things I like about AnyDVD - gives you the copy protection on the disc and disc info. I always like to know what I'm dealing with! (thrill of victory I guess when it has the so called 'tough' protection)

Will some please explain this "bad press". I too was having all kinds of problems ripping this dvd until I simply using another dvd burner. What's up with that? Is this a bad press? What is this bad press?

@bens4life
A bad press well I quess the easiest explanation is a disc w/ a glitch(s) like a bubble maybe that you can't see but your ripper sure does! The dvd's are massed produced so errors can easily happen in a batch. DVD-Roms are pressed not burned.
Some drives are better at ripping than others as you found using another drive. Another thing that can help is using a lens cleaner on the drives - this will clean the lens which may help it read/rip thru these bad spots.
