Had several problems when DVD Shrink 3.2 finished the encoding and ejected the original movie and asks for empty disc to be inserted, i keep getting "Checking disc" displayed and the green progress bar scrolls back and forth as if its stuck.

What is causing this is it the brand of media, if so what are best to use, ive seen people suggest Verbatim and also any point in getting 16x discs ?? even though my new burner can burn that fast on DVD-R ??

Please help

MARTY ,
The program is not recog the blank media you are using and thusly the error. Try the Verbatims's ( buy a small amount to make sure they are compatible). If you are in the US BestBuy usually puts them on sale once a month for 50- $19.99. Make sure the burners firmware is Up to Date and I would suggest you start burning at 4X and then slowly go up to 8X if there are no problems. Never burn at 16X as you are doing a movie and not saving spreadsheets.

First check your firmware for an update. You can use DVD Decrypter go to Tools -> Drive -> Check for firmware update. Or go here:
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

Go here to read up on the media and how to choose it:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Download this identifier to check the media you have to see who actually manufactured it:

Yes, even if you burn at 4X the 16X is much better because the dye is rated higher? I buy tires for my car that are rated at 100MPH even though I never drive over 60MPH?? Get the point?

There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading; The few who learn by observation;
The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves...
