Well i don't think i am able to backup the game because the file is not an ISO file it is a I00 file which decrypter does seem to be able to write. So was wonder how i can back this file up.

select the mds file to burn and ur backup will work as long you use some mod and good media.

ok.ok.ok.ok.ok.ok.ok.ok. i get the point.

The 100 file probably is the iso. How big is it?

It's over 4mb, but Decrypter doesn't pick it up as a file to backup. Infact i can't select any of them. Is there a setting i have to adjust??

Is there an mds file present with the 100 file?

Load the mds file into DVD Decrypter. You have it set to split iso files at 4GB's. Load the MDS file into DVD Decrypter. It'll know to put the iso file together and burn it to disc.

I'm having trouble with this. I extracted an image of a PS2 game off my PS2 hard drive using WinHIIP as I wanted to burn it to a dvd.

It has given me a .mds file and a .I00 file.

I have tried mounting the the image with Deamon Tools, DVD Decrypter, Alcohol 120 and Nero and no luck. I always get an error saying it's an unrecognised image type or file type etc...

I assume it's something to do with the .I00 file, or something in the .MDS file is worng?

Can anyone help or tell me a program to use to burn or convert it to a different format?

Thanks

001 files are normally what you get when you use DVD Decrypter when running on fat32
try converting the 001 file to iso with ultraiso

Not sure that works either, unless I'm doing something wrong.

I selected the convert option under the tools menu then set it to convert it to ISO and opened the MDS file but it says can't find the MDF file. So how do I get it to open the I00 file?

Thanks

Make sure you don't have DVD Decrypter set to split iso files at a certain size. FAT32 file systems can handle single files up to 4GB's. http://www.xtreme-source.com/showthread.php?t=800

My tutorial covers it. Also make sure you have the option to create mds file checked.

If you still have the original, then make an iso file with DVD Decrypter. Burn it to disc and it should work fine. Usually it's best to backup games before you transfer them. If you FTP games with Winhiip, there's no need to use your laser.

I don't have the original unfortunately. I only want to burn them to disc as I'm a bit short on hard drive space both on my PC and PS2.

I could just burn them to data disc but then I don't think I'll be able to load them back on if I want to.

There is no mdf file thats the problem, there is a mds file but instead of the mdf file its a I00 file.

Hmm. I'm not terribly familiar with ioo files, as my HD is NTFS. If IsoBuster will extract IOO files, you could extract it to a folder, then burn a UDF/ISO DVD with Nero. You could also try out Apache 3. Select a UDF/ISO DVD from Nero, it's the last option under the DVD menu. Then copy and paste all the files into Nero. The order doesn't matter. Then burn it.

You have to register, but it's free:

Apache 3: http://www.xtreme-source.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=137

IsoBuster: http://www.xtreme-source.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=21

Nero: http://www.nero.com/nero7/enu/nero7-demo.php

I think I've worked it out now, I think there was something wrong with the mds file.

I made a new one using DVD Decrypter and it seems to work using Deamon tools now so will try burning it

Hello everyone,

i had just been reading through some forums again and they say that (using DVD Decrypter this is, im not sure if any other programs do this as well) that if the image DVD Decrypter is trying to back-up and put on your computer is over 4GB, it will be automatically split up., as it is bigger than 4GB, therefore, creating two 'IOO' files instead of one 'ISO'. If you are like me and only want the 'ISO' files, here's what to do:
1) Open up DVD Decrypter.
2) Go to Tools/Settings...
3) Click on the tab 'ISO Read Mode'. In the file splitting drop-down arrow, click 'None' Then click 'Ok'.

This will disable DVD Decrypter from splitting up your 'ISO' files if they are over 4GB, which I think is a great idea. Please note however, I had to do it again (the steps) everytime i had a image over 4GB, you may have to as well. So hope I have helped some of you's out there. Cya!
