It's only $.80 cheaper...........
From the Abacus site, with shipping, the total is $21.80 (for me anyway). Shipping may be different, depending on where you live?

On Epson website

R300 is just $10 more than the R200 ?

Both epson refurbished, is R300 better ? or same as R300 ?

for just strictly printing onto DVD purposes.

i have an epson 300r and I hate the way it's setup for dvd printing. you have to put this tray into the printer and line up the arrows on the tray with the arrows on the printer. i tried this once and it was way off. So I read in my instruction manual you gotta print a test pattern disc and measure the distance between the x's and the hole. I did that, entered the figures into the printers program, and tried to print on another disc. this time it was off by maybe half a milimeter. you could see a tiny white sliver along the lower right edge of the disc. my question is why the hell would they design the printer so I have to perfectly line up arrows? If I'm off by half a milimeter then it's a waste of time, ink, and a dvd. How about actually setting it up so you put the disc on a tray, slide it in all the way in, and then let it do it's thing. Instead, I need perfect twenty twenty vision and the help of Jesus Christ himself for a disc to be perfectly lined up. I tried it a third time and again it was very slightly off. I've given up on it entirely. What really pisses me off is this is one of the reason I bought this $200 printer.

@ max... Although i am not sure how your epson works exactly, i have an Epson R220 and they same set up for printing on the disks
and your problem may be as simple as your printing software....just resize the image to correct the difference....i think it might work for you....maybe you arfe not getting the size exactly right and you can ( at least on the epson program that cam with my printer) resize the center distance and the outer printing area...try some adjustments.........

Max, its not so much the tray that is your problem but the settings in the Epson print cd software that you are using. You need to select the picture icon (4th icon down on the left) as this will allow you to size your image so that the outer edge covers the entire DVD/CD. Then use the next to the last icon (eighth one down on the left and set the outter dimension to the maximum 120 mm and the inner setting to say 20 mm if using a hub printable. This will cover the entire disc and no white area should be showing. Inner settings can be adjusted for the type of printable disc you are using. Try these setting changes and post your findings. Your printer is an excellent DVD/CD printer and once your comfortable with the use of its settings you will find that it can produce professional quality results.

To the folks that are using the R Epson series printers,

What media are you guys using w/ much success, for these printers ?

I think I'm gonna go out & buy the R200, wanted to know which media works great w/ it.

Man can get the R200 real cheap from Epson, Re-furbished w/ FREE shipping for just $59.00.

That is a great price. I have both the R200 and the R220. With the R220 the smallest inner hub setting is 18mm minimum. On the R200 the inner hub setting has a 20mm minimum. I have found a few scans downloaded I will sometimes need the lower 18mm setting of the R220 to completely cover the center hub printed area on certain DVD's. Not a big deal though just thought you should know. I have used Verbatim 8X's hub printables and well as others. Ty's or Verbatim hub printables are obviously among the better ones and can be purchased online at Meritline.com, Rima and elsewhere at good prices.

I just bought a R300 for $59.00 w/o ink though.

I'm gonna order ink cartridges through Abacus Ink.

Now when looking for media, I'm looking for full face surface.

When looking for media description says FULL HUB Printable, does that mean the same as, full face ??

Great link dabig25. I'll save it in my notepad for future newbs.

I just ordered 100 ty-g02 shiny inkjet printables earlier. I'm going against my plus format only, but my personal drives have no issues with my dash backups. The price difference was the closer!!!

Now not to get into another war with UPS and Fed ex. LOL

Also, how bout if I get these DVD-R's ?

Verbatims's, have had much success w/ Verb's before, but of couse never used printables.

Full Hub printable, no stack ring.

Supposedly Verb's have a better printing surface than TY's ?

What would the settings be, for using these w/ my Epson R300 ?

I've used those same verbs, but in the plus format and my settings were: Inner-20/outer-119. Same as my Maxell full hubs.

I don't know about the tys,but the plus verbs turn out about the same of the plus maxells in the full hubs. They both have a matte finish, which I still haven't seen any semi-gloss or glossy full hubs.

One thing about my discs, the darker covers turn out a lot better than the lighter ones. If I have a good choice between disc covers, like at covers.to,then I go with the darker/highest resolution one.

Those dash 8x verb full hubs should be very good quality.I just wish the plus format was that cheap.

It is the whole set and that's not a bad deal at Supermediastore right now. I'll have to check it out. Must be one of their specials. I'll stock up. I've never seen the whole set for more than $18+shipping at Rima. I've been using the Rima stuff for about 6 months now (5 or 6 sets) and it prints out very well on Verbatim, Ridata, Taiyo Yuden and Maxell.

I just got my 100 pack of those ty-g02 shiny inkjet printable and my backup of jarhead looks sweet! They have a look of my lightscribe backups, but instead of the bronze look-they got the shiny silvery look.

Dry to the bone in just a couple minutes. I measured to set my targets so I set inner at 41 and outer at 118.

I can't wait to try a more colorful disc cover to see how it turns out.

I didn't even have to break out the can of whoop-ass for the ups driver. He actually arrived at 4 pm!!!!

Oh good..........they went back down! Yea!
Either yesterday, or the day before, I went to the page I order from, and the price showing was $18.95 for the set.
I got an email from them saying that I should see the changes at their site. I sent them back an email saying, "Yeah, I saw the changes at your site. You CHANGED the price of my ink from $16.95 to $18.95!"
Now after reading your post (saugmon), I went and looked again, and the price is back to $16.95! I didn't realize I had that much clout! :o)
