I'm stuck and cant figure this out. I just bought an external 5.25 enclosure(acomdata 2195) for an internal dvd burner that has over 100 succesful burns on my home desktop computer. I am using it now on my laptop which has burned about 10 movies with the same burner in a different external enclosure which was returned because of excessive noise. Now everytime I try to backup a movie I get an error....

I received the same error/disc eject trying to use dvdfab/express for the burn. Again I have used this laptop before for backups, although very slow, and never received errors before now. Im using Maxell dvd+r media which burned fine in the same burner on my home computer.
Can anyone help?
As an add-on the burner works fine with cd-r burning using nero.

This will be one of your problems, to successfully burn you need at least 512meg RAM, I would add another 256meg, in the meantime shut down all unnecessary progs including spyware and dont multitask while burning.

Not the best media you can use I would try a different brand, Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden

Thanks for the quick reply. As for the memory I am planning on an upgrade within a week or so, but I have many successful burns on just 256mb using the same burner in a different external enclosure. As for the "YU5121L EWD532Q" drive... prob showing due to deamon tools being installed, although not active during burning. Any a/v and non-essential progs were off during burn attempts. Downloading the update as I am typing so will update once installed. As far as media thats all I have my hands on right now. Verbatims are my choice if I can get them.

Update didn't help. Here is the latest error..
I don't understand the thing about disc-at-once. I don't have it checked, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Here's a little reading about this error, hope it helps.

But it's only 90% of the time. On a rare occasion I've seen this caused by driver conflicts. Either from other software, or drivers for the IDE Controller.
Old firmware on the recorder - Go to the recorder MFG's website to obtain the latest firmware for your recorder. (You may be able to obtain it from this link as well: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php)
Poor media - Try more than one brand of media. For example: TDK, Verbatim, Imation, Yamaha, HP, etc.
Poor IDE cable or incorrect cable - For higher end recorders these days if you use the 40pin cable you can have all sorts of unusual symptoms. It would be best to use an ATA-133 80 wire cable.
KEY_ILLEGAL_REQUEST
Driver conflicts - If you have or had another CD recording software installed on your system, its drivers could be conflicting with our software. This is rare for this symptom, but it does occur. Uninstall any other recording software and make sure all its drivers have been removed with it. Then reinstall Nero and make sure to use the latest version we have posted on our website.
Defective recorder - The optical head on your recorder may need cleaning or servicing. Or it's possible the circuit board on your recorder has an open coil or blown diode or resistor. Any of these could cause the error. Only solution would be to send the drive in for service to the recorder manufacturer
