I am new at trying to burn dvd's. I have shrink 3.2.0.15 and decrypter 3.5.4.0. Everything seems to go fine up to the point I am ready to burn to dvd. I have the source set to my ripped file on my hard drive and destination as my NEC DVD+RW. Where you would click on the icons to burn from hard drive to burner is not lit up. The very bottom "task bar" in decrypter says ..... disc not empty.

My discs are new out of the pack fuji dvd+r. Any ideas what this "disc not empty" message is all about?

Decrypter log is as follows:
I 15:55:18 DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.4.0 started!
I 15:55:18 Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600 : Service Pack 2)
I 15:55:18 Initialising SPTI...
I 15:55:18 Searching for SCSI / ATAPI devices...
I 15:55:18 Found 1 DVD-ROM and 1 DVD+RW!

make sure that you select the right destination drive. maybe you selected your reader, that has the original DVD in yet. Is this how your DVD Decrypter window looks like afte you put the blank dvd in?(ofcourse it doesn't, it's how it should!) make sure you have the right disc in the right drive- the simplest option first!)

@9932sens
So far it doesn't look like he is having problems with decryption. Is the burning part. AnyDvd is one of the greatest, as for DVD43, many people not too fond of it. Also, doesn't seem like he had mentioned anything about having Nero...

I think he is just trying to get his post count up, or perhaps he didn't read ak3839's post throughly, which I have done.

BTW, cyprusrom, I believe you are right on, kudos!!

Best regards,

Rich

Yes I have the correct drive specified in destination. Here is what is on the right side for the drive/disc info:

_NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD 103D (ATA)
Current Profile: DVD+R

Disc Information:
Status: Incomplete
Erasable: No
Sessions: 1
Free Sectors: 15,872
Free Space: 32,505,856 bytes
Free Time: 03:33:47 (MM:SS:FF)
Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 4x, 4x

My status is "incomplete". Is that my problem? I notice my free space and free time is a lot less than yours. I also don't have the lower portion on physical format on mine like you do. Do I need to format the blank disc in any way before I can use it?

@sytyguy
This is the message that he is talking about, "Disc Not Empty".
It is a classic confusion, although the source and destination are correct, the discs are swapped, in the wrong drive. of course, could be some other reason, but that I would be happy to find out

Rich man, so many usless posts around these days...For those that want to get their counts up, I suggest the Safety Vault!

Have you attempted to write on that disc before and it failed? Try a different disc.
You can only format RW discs. If that is a brand new disc, should have no problems. That one looks like a failed burn, and the disc was not closed or something.

cyprusrom,

I wasn't talking about you, and like I said, I thought you were right on with your diagnosis, however, it looks like that may not be the case.

LOL! Live and learn!
Well at least we know the error did not "mutate" in the last few days and "Disc not Empty" still means you have to get an empty disc!
Cheers!

Glad your problem was fixed. Dont worry about the newbie thing, we all do things like that, and we were all newbies at something at one time or another.

Max,
About the misunderstood words, I can always pull that "english is my second language"!

As for the n00bie part, I am still one in so many areas, and just a little more in different ones. And if someone ever says they were born knowing "Everything", they can PM me and I'll tell them what/where to do/go!
I got no medical insurance yet, but men, I would so much like a blue pill right now!!!

Maxburn, how in the heck did you get in this, all you need to do, is tell you cousin to not post CANNED POSTS ON THREADS HE apparently DOES NOT UNDERSTAND, or have, at least, have him/her read the orginator post's of this thread, please read the post, thank you?

And I believe everyone will be happy, end of this thread, I hope, but if it continues I am not going to respond.

Have a good day?????
